Devil Bat's Daughter
''Devil Bat's Daughter'' is a 1946 American horror film directed by Frank Wisbar. It stars Rosemary La Planche, who was crowned Miss America 1941. It is a sequel to the 1941 film ''The Devil Bat'', with no returning cast members. It marked the film debut of Michael Hale, a former ad man for the ''Los Angeles Times'', who was married to one of Hedda Hopper's assistants. Plot A beautiful young woman is found in a trance. A taxi driver claims to have taken her to "the Carruthers place", so a police officer and neighbor Dr. Eliot take her there. They learn, with help from psychiatrist Cliff Morris, that the woman is a Nina MacCarron, and that her father, Dr. Paul Carruthers, once conducted experiments on bats that led people to calling him a vampire and who died from his own creation in the events of the previous film. Frank Wisbar
Frank Wisbar (born Franz Wysbar 9 December 1899 – 17 March 1967) was a German film director and screenwriter. Born in Lithuania, Wisbar directed more than 20 films between 1932 and 1967 in Germany and the United States, as well as amassing many television credits. He created TV's ''Fireside Theatre'' and was the show's producer in addition to frequently directing and writing episodes. He was also a member of the jury at the 10th Berlin International Film Festival. George Nolan Leary (April 26, 1889 – December 12, 1987) was an American actor and playwright. Leary was born in Rock Island County, Illinois. His acting career started in France during World War I, providing entertainment for United States Troops. In 1919 he appeared in the Broadway play ''Forbidden'', playing the Second Lieutenant and Luke O'Keefe. Other Broadway appearances included productions of ''Happy Landing'', ''Rendezvous'' and ''Dodsworth''. He later appeared in films and on television.
