Devikulam taluk is one of the 5 taluks in Idukki district of Indian state of Kerala. Devikulam taluk comprises 13 villages. Constituent Villages Devikulam taluk has 13 villages: Anaviratty, Kannan Devan Hills, Kanthalloor, Keezhanthoor, Kottakamboor, Kunchithanny, Mankulam, Mannamkandam, Marayoor, Munnar, Pallivasal, Vattavada and Vellathuval. Demographics As of 2011 Census, Devikulam taluk had a population of 177,621 which constitutes 89,040 males and 88,581 females. Devikulam taluk spreads over an area of with 45,480 families residing in it. Population in the age group 0-6 was 17,091 (9.6%). Devikulam taluk had overall literacy of 86.29%. Kannan Devan Hills
Kannan Devan Hills is a large village located in Devikulam taluk of Idukki district in the Indian state of Kerala. The village of Kannan Devan Hills in Devikulam Taluk, was given on lease on 11 July 1877 by the Poonjar Thampuran to John Daniel Munroe, of London and Peermedu, for tea plantation. The lands and plantations were later resumed by the Government of Kerala by the Kannan Devan Hills (Resumption Of Lands) Act, 1971. Pallivasal
Pallivasal is a village in Idukki district in the Indian state of Kerala. The first hydro-electric project in Kerala was established at Pallivasal during the reign of Maharajah Sree Chithira Thirunal Balarama Varma. Pallivasal project The Pallivasal electric project was commissioned in 1940. The Kerala electricity transmission system also emerged in 1940 with a 66 kV line from Pallivasal to Thiruvananthapuram. Munnar
Munnar () is a town and hill station in the Idukki district of the southwestern Indian state of Kerala. Munnar is situated at around above mean sea level, in the Western Ghats mountain range. Marayoor
Marayur or Marayoor is a town in Devikulam taluk of Idukki district in Kerala, India. It is located 42 kilometers north of Munnar on SH 17 connecting Munnar with Udumalpet, Tamil Nadu. Marayur is situated at around 1,600 metres (5,200 ft) above mean sea level and is the only place in Kerala that has natural sandalwood forests.
