Deogarh, also known as Devgarh, is a town and a municipality, nearby Rajsamand city in Rajsamand District in the Indian state of Rajasthan. Formerly the town was an estate of the Chundawat Rajputs. Geography Deogarh is located at . It has an average elevation of , and is situated on the eastern side of the Aravali Ranges on top of a small hill. A small pond rests at its base. The town is bordered by rocks in the east, Kali Ghati (Aravali Range) in the west, Nathdwara Ghats in the south and Ajmer in the north. It has spectacular animal and bird sanctuaries. Devgad is a taluka in Sindhudurg district of Maharashtra India consisting of 98 villages. It is located on the Arabian Sea in the coastal Konkan region of Maharashtra, south of Mumbai. Devgad is known globally for its exports of locally grown Alphonso mangoes. Devgad is a natural harbour. However, only small vessels can enter the harbour. History It is noted for its harbour, its beach, and a lighthouse built in 1915 at the Devgad fort. Shilahara dynasty Raja Bhoja II constructed Fort Vijaydurg (Gheria), ruled later by Adil Shah and eventually by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and lastly Kanhoji Angre is a national monument situated 45 minutes by road from the main city of Devgad. Deogarh, Uttar Pradesh
Deogarh is a village in Lalitpur district of the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. It is located on the right bank of Betwa River and to the west of Lalitpur hills. It is known for Gupta monuments and for many ancient monuments of Jain origins inside and outside the walls of the fort. The fort on the hill is dominated by a cluster of Jain temples on its eastern part, the oldest of these dating to the 8th or 9th century. Apart from Jain temples, the wall frescoes of Jain images of "iconographic and the stylistic variety", are special features of the fort. The three ghats (ghat means "flight of stone steps leading to the river"), which provide approach to the Betwa river edge from the fort – the Nahar Ghat, the Rajghat and the ghat with the Siddh ki Ghufa (saints cave) – are also of archeological significance.
