Destroying Angel
The name destroying angel applies to several similar, closely related species of deadly all-white mushrooms in the genus ''Amanita''. They are ''Amanita bisporigera'' and '' A. ocreata'' in eastern and western North America, respectively, and '' A. virosa'' in Europe. Another European species of ''Amanita'' referred to as the destroying angel, ''Amanita verna'' - also referred to as the 'Fool's mushroom' - was first described in France in 1780. Destroying angels are among the most toxic known mushrooms; both they and the closely related death caps (''A. phalloides'') contain amatoxins. Description Destroying angels are characterized by having a white stalk and gills. The cap can be pure white, or white at the edge and yellowish, pinkish, or tan at the center. It has a partial veil, or ring (annulus) circling the upper stalk, and the gills are "free", not attached to the stalk. Perhaps the most telltale of the features is the presence of a volva, or universal veil, so calle ...

In 2021, both "Destroying Angels" and "Starman" would be included on the deluxe edition bonus disc of Garbage's seventh album, '' No Gods No Masters''. Eschaton (album)
''Eschaton'' is the third studio album by British extreme metal band Anaal Nathrakh. Musically, the album continues in the vein of the previous album, ''Domine Non Es Dignus''. Some reviewers have commented that the overall atmosphere and production are at the same time a step back towards the out-and-out ferocity of the band's debut. The album features guest appearances by Shane Embury (Embryonymous) on bass, and Attila Csihar (from Mayhem) performs vocals on "Regression to the Mean". Background The album cover art resembles parts of the Mandelbrot set. "The Necrogeddon" is a re-recording from ''Total Fucking Necro''. The album features sound samples from the television series ''Blackadder II'' ("The Destroying Angel"), and the films ''Saw'' ("The Yellow King") and '' Zulu'' ("The Necrogeddon"). Lyrics for the song "When Lion Devours Both Dragon and Child" include an adaptation of text from the Book of Job, chapter 10, and the clean sung parts describe and quote "The Madman's ...

Destroying Angel (Bible)
In the Hebrew Bible, the destroying angel (, ''malʾāḵ hamašḥīṯ''), also known as mashḥit ( ''mašḥīṯ'', 'destroyer'; plural: , ''mašḥīṯīm'', 'spoilers, ravagers'), is an entity sent out by YHWH on several occasions to kill the enemies of the Hebrews. These angels (''mal'akh'') are also variously referred to as ''memitim'' (, 'executioners, slayers'), or Angel of the Lord. The latter is found in Job 33:22, as well as in Proverbs 16:14 in the plural, "messengers of death". ''Mashchith'' was also used as an alternate name for one of the seven compartments of Gehenna. In 2 Samuel 24:15-16, the destroying angel kills the inhabitants of Jerusalem. In I Chronicles 21:15, the same "Angel of the Lord" is seen by David to stand "between the earth and the heaven, with a drawn sword in his hand stretched out against Hebrews's enemies". Later, in II Kings 19:35, the angel kills 185,000 Assyrian soldiers. In the Book of Enoch, angels of punishment and destruction b ...

Danite
The Danites were a fraternal organization founded by Latter Day Saint members in June 1838, in the town of Far West, Caldwell County, Missouri. During their period of organization in Missouri, the Danites operated as a vigilante group and took a central role in the events of the 1838 Mormon War. There is no evidence that the Danites existed after 1838. However, they remained an important part of Mormon and non-Mormon folklore, polemics, and propaganda for the remainder of the 19th century, waning in ideological prominence after Utah gained statehood. Notwithstanding public excommunications of Danite leaders by the Church and both public and private statements from Joseph Smith referring to the band as being both evil in nature and a " secret combination" (a term used in the Book of Mormon to signify corruption within a group of people like gangs, organized crime, and politics), the nature and scope of the organization and the degree to which it was officially connected to the Chu ...

Splinter (Sneaker Pimps Album)
''Splinter'' is the second studio album by English electronic band Sneaker Pimps, released on 25 October 1999 through record labels Clean Up and Virgin. It was the first album to feature founding member and principal songwriter Chris Corner on lead vocals, replacing the band's previous singer Kelli Dayton. Content ''NME'' described ''Splinter'' as "a staunch refusal to cash in whatsoever on previous fame" and "the band's hangover after the long night of success brought by debut '''Becoming X'''. It’s faintly ugly and always a breath away from self-destruction, the vision of a band who've renounced smiling at people they hate and wrestled their collective soul back from the devil." AllMusic described the album's musical style as "full of trancey, edgy psychedelia, interspersed with moments of blistering rock" and "an intricate album of trip-hop". Songs recorded during the album sessions but not included on the album are "Diving" and "Unattach", which were included as bonu ...
