Destined To Be
''Destined to Be'' is the only studio album by American rapper McGruff. It was released on June 16, 1998 by Uptown Records and Universal Records. Recording sessions took place at The Hit Factory, Greene St. Recording, Battery Studios and Sony Music Studios in New York City, and at Larrabee West in Los Angeles. Production was mostly handled by Heavy D and Ty Fyffe along with Daven "Prestige" Vanderpool and Warryn Campbell among others. It features guest appearances from Big L, Mase, Mr. Cheeks and The Lox The album failed to sell many copies and peaked at only 169 on the ''Billboard'' 200, though it did find better success on the R&B and Heatseekers charts. ''Destined to Be'' spawned one charting single, "Before We Start" which was a minor hit on the R&B and rap singles charts in the US. Larrabee Sound Studios is a recording studio complex in North Hollywood, California, originally established in 1969. Facilities Located at 4162 Lankershim Boulevard in North Hollywood, Larrabee has six studios, three tracking spaces, and a production/mastering suite, centered around a large, extensively-decorated atrium. Studio 1, where Jaycen Joshua is resident mix engineer, is the second-largest studio space at Larrabee, with a 65-square-meter live room. An 80-channel Solid State Logic 9098 XL K-series console is the hub of this studio's 40-square-meter control room. Cameron Ezike Giles (born February 4, 1976), better known by his stage name Cam'ron, is an American rapper, record executive, and actor from Harlem, New York City. Lamont Coleman (May 30, 1974February 15, 1999), known professionally as Big L, was an American rapper and record executive. Emerging from Harlem in New York City in 1992, Coleman became known among underground hip-hop fans for his freestyling ability.
