Despair (band)
Despair is a thrash metal band from Dortmund, Germany. History Original line-up The group was formed in Dortmund in 1986 with Robert Kampf on vocals, Klaus Pachura on bass, Thomas "Donald" König on drums, and Waldemar Sorychta and Marek Greschek on guitar. The following year, they released the demo ''Surviving You Always''. König was replaced shortly after by 16-year-old drummer Markus Freiwald. Kampf launched Century Media Records in 1988 and Despair's ''History of Hate'' was the first album released by the label. In 1989, Andreas Henschel replaced Kampf at the microphone when the latter decided to devote himself to Century Media. The label went on to release the group's other two albums, ''Decay of Humanity'' (1990) and ''Beyond All Reason'' (1992). Sorychta was in charge of production on ''History of Hate'' and was the principal composer. Edenbridge are a symphonic metal band from Austria, led by songwriter Arne "Lanvall" Stockhammer and fronted by soprano singer Sabine Edelsbacher. Established in 1998, the band has so far released ten studio albums. History 1998-2004 Edenbridge was formed in 1998 by guitarist and keyboardist Lanvall, singer Sabine Edelsbacher, and bassist Kurt Bednarsky. The line-up was completed when drummer Roland Navratil joined the band. Edenbridge entered the recording studio in 1999, signing a record deal with Massacre Records the same year. Morgoth (band)
Morgoth was a German death metal band that was formed in 1985 by Rüdiger Hennecke and Carsten Otterbach in Meschede. History Originally the band used the name Cadaverous Smell and they played grindcore / noise style music. When Harry Busse joined the band they renamed themselves to "Minas Morgul". In 1985 the band settled on Morgoth when singer and bass-player Marc Grewe joined the band. The name was derived from the epithet of the original dark lord Melkor in J.R.R Tolkien's Middle-earth Legendarium. They recorded the ''Pits of Utumno'' demo on four tracks in 1988, which eventually led to the band being signed with Century Media, which had just started. In 1989, Morgoth recorded their second demo ''Resurrection Absurd'' in a twenty-four-track studio, which was released by Century Media in the same year as an EP. Thomas Such (born 19 February 1963), better known by his stage name Tom Angelripper, is a German musician best known as the lead vocalist, bassist, main songwriter, and the only original remaining member of German thrash metal band Sodom. Biography Thomas Such was born in Gelsenkirchen on 19 February 1963, from where he learned to play bass steadily whilst working in coal mines. He then went on, as Tom Angelripper, to be the founding members of the German thrash metal band Sodom. Kreator is a German thrash metal band from Essen, formed in 1982. Their current lineup consists of lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Miland "Mille" Petrozza, drummer Jürgen "Ventor" Reil, lead guitarist Sami Yli-Sirniö, and bassist Frédéric Leclercq. The band's lineup has changed multiple times over its -year career, most noticeably with their bassists and lead guitarists. Petrozza and Reil are the only two original members left in Kreator, although the latter took a break from the band from 1994 to 1996. Yli-Sirniö has been the lead guitarist of Kreator since 2001, while Leclercq joined in 2019 as the replacement of Christian "Speesy" Giesler, who had been a member of the band since 1994.
