Dennis Desjardin
Dennis Edmund Desjardin (born May 18, 1950, in Crescent City, California) is an American mycologist. He has been called the "Mushroom Guru of the West Coast". Biography Desjardin attended San Jose State University but dropped out to play jazz professionally. A decade later he sought a more stable career. At San Francisco State University (SFSU), he graduated in 1983 with a B.S. in botany and in 1985 with an M.A. in ecology and systematic biology. His M.A. thesis, ''The marasmioid fungi of California'', was supervised by Harry D. Thiers. At the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, Desjardin graduated in 1989 with a Ph.D. in mycology. His Ph.D. thesis, ''The genus Marasmius from the southern Appalachian Mountains'', was supervised by Ronald H. Petersen. After completing his Ph.D., Desjardin was from 1989 to 1990 an assistant professor at Oberlin College. Jacques Desjardin
Jacques Desjardin or Jacques Jardin or Jacques Desjardins; (9 February 175911 February 1807) enlisted in the French royal army as a young man and eventually became a sergeant. During the first years of the French Revolutionary Wars he enjoyed very rapid promotion to the rank of general officer in the army of the French First Republic. In May and June 1794 he emerged as co-commander of an army that tried three times to cross the Sambre at Grandreng, Erquelinnes and Gosselies and each time was thrown back by the Coalition. After that, he reverted to a division commander and saw more service in the north of France, Belgium, and the Netherlands. In the campaign of 1805, he led an infantry division under Marshal Pierre Augereau in Emperor Napoleon's Grande Armée and saw limited fighting. In 1806 he fought at Jena, Czarnowo and Gołymin. Miss Rita L. Desjardin is a fictional character created by American author Stephen King in his first published 1974 horror novel ''Carrie''.
