Desert Patrol (film)
''Desert Patrol'' is a 1938 American Western film directed by Sam Newfield and written by Fred Myton. The film stars Bob Steele, Marion Weldon, Rex Lease, Ted Adams, Forrest Taylor and Budd Buster. The film was released on June 6, 1938, by Republic Pictures. Plot After the death of a Ranger, Dave Austin is tasked by the Captain to conduct an investigation. To gather information, he assumes the identity of an outlaw and encounters Apache Joe, who he discovers is the perpetrator. Additionally, he becomes acquainted with Dan Drury, who facilitates money transfers between Apache Joe and his superior. Austin secures employment on Drury's ranch, but encounters difficulties when Drury's sister Jean exposes his true identity. Sam Newfield
Sam Newfield, born Samuel Neufeld, (December 6, 1899 - November 10, 1964), also known as Sherman Scott or Peter Stewart, was an American B-movie Film director, director, one of the most prolific in American film history—he is credited with directing over 250 feature films in a career which began during the silent era and ended in 1958. In addition to his staggering feature output, he also directed one -and two-reel comedy Short film, shorts, training films, industrial films, TV episodes and pretty much anything anyone would pay him for. Because of this massive output—he would sometimes direct more than 20 films in a single year—he has been called the most prolific director of the sound era. Many of Newfield's films were made for Producers Releasing Corporation, PRC Pictures. This was a film production company headed by his brother Sigmund Neufeld. Jack Ingram (actor)
John Samuel Ingram (November 15, 1902 – February 20, 1969) was an American film and television actor. He appeared in many serials and Westerns between 1935 and 1966. Biography Ingram served in the U.S. Army in France. After leaving the military, he gave up plans to study law and instead joined a traveling minstrel show. He acted in stock theater with several companies before going into film. Ingram first appeared on screen in a bit part in ''Westward Ho'' (1935). His first film credit came in the serial ''Zorro Rides Again'' (1937). In addition to acting, Ingram was a stunt man, working with horses and cars in films in the early 1930s. He was born in Frankfort, Illinois, and died in Canoga Park, California, of a heart attack. He was interred in the Oakwood Memorial Park Cemetery in Chatsworth, California.
