Des Hoare
Desmond Edward Hoare (born 19 October 1934) is a former Australian cricketer who played in one Test match in 1961. He also played Australian rules football for East Fremantle in the West Australian National Football League (WANFL). Life and career A tall fast bowler and useful lower-order batsman, Hoare played for Western Australia from 1955–56 to 1965–66. He was selected for the Fourth Test against the West Indies in 1960–61, replacing the injured Alan Davidson. He took the wickets of Conrad Hunte and Frank Worrell and made 35 in a ninth-wicket partnership of 85 with Richie Benaud in the drawn match. Davidson returned to the team for the Fifth Test. Hoare was not selected for the tour to England in 1961, and when the Australian touring team played Western Australia at the end of the 1960–61 season, he opened the batting for Western Australia and hit 133, his only century. Perth is the capital and largest city of the Australian state of Western Australia. Nelson Cricket Club, based at Seedhill in Nelson, Lancashire, are a cricket club in the Lancashire League. They play at the Seedhill ground in Nelson. Their captain for the 2016 season is Neil Thompson and their professional is Ryan Bailey. Nelson Cricket Club was formed in 1861 when two other local clubs merged. It was a founding member of the Lancashire League in 1892, winning the inaugural championship. The club has gone on to win the league on 21 occasions, the most of any club. Saeed Ahmed (cricketer, Born 1937)
Saeed Ahmed ( ur, ; born 1 October 1937) is a Pakistani preacher and former cricketer who is the member of Tablighi Jamaat after retirement. He played in 41 Test matches between 1958 and 1972. He was born in 1937 at Jalandhar in what was then British Punjab, part of British India and educated at Government Islamia College in Lahore. He played as a right-handed middle order batsman with a powerful drive and bowled off-breaks. He is the brother of another cricketer Younis Ahmed. Saeed made his Test début on 17 January 1958 against the West Indies at Bridgetown. He made 65 in the second innings, at one stage partnering with Hanif Mohammad who went on to make 337. Saeed finished the series with 508 runs. Johnny Wardle
Johnny Wardle (8 January 1923 – 23 July 1985) was an English spin bowling cricketer whose Test Match career lasted between 1948 and 1957. His Test bowling average of 20.39 is the lowest in Test cricket by any recognised spin bowler since the First World War. Wardle played for Yorkshire, England, and later for Cambridgeshire. Life and career John Henry Wardle was born in Ardsley, Barnsley, West Riding of Yorkshire. He attended Wath Grammar School from age 11 to 15. Swan Brewery
The Swan Brewery is a brewing company, whose brewery was located in Perth, Western Australia. History The brewery was established in 1857 by Frederick Sherwood at the foot of what is now Sherwood Court in Perth. The brewery was named for the black swans that Sherwood had seen on the river. Sherwood inherited a successful building firm from his father Richard in 1831 and migrated to the Swan River Colony, with his wife Jessey and three children in 1843. Sherwood, who had been working as an architect/surveyor/builder, established the brewery after the death of his wife, in order to support his six children. He saw the Swan River as the ideal place to build a brewery, as the Swan provided fresh, clean water for making the beer, hiring convicts as a source of cheap labour.
