Dersu Uzala
Dersu Uzala (russian: Дерсу Узала; 1849–1908) was a Nanai trapper and hunter. He worked as a guide for Vladimir Arsenyev who immortalized him in his 1923 book '' Dersu Uzala''. The book was adapted into two feature films, with the version by Akira Kurosawa being the better known. Life The Russian explorer Vladimir Arsenyev started his expeditions to the forests of the Far East in the area of Ussuri in 1902. He described numerous species of Siberian flora and the lifestyle of native ethnic people. When Arsenyev met the trapper Uzala he hired him as a guide for his journeys,David Prynn and G. H. 4142 Dersu-Uzala, provisional designation ', is a Hungaria asteroid, sizable Mars-crosser and potentially slow rotator from the innermost region of the asteroid belt, approximately in diameter. It was discovered by Czech astronomer Zdeňka Vávrová at Kleť Observatory on 28 May 1981. The rare A-type asteroid has a rotation period of 140 hours. It was named after the Siberian trapper and hunter Dersu Uzala. Orbit and characterization ''Dersu-Uzala'' is a member of the dynamical Hungaria group of asteroids, which form the innermost dense concentration of asteroids in the Solar System. Arsenyev (russian: Арсе́ньев) is a types of inhabited localities in Russia, town in Primorsky Krai, Russia, located about northeast of Vladivostok, the administrative center of the krai.
