Derrick Pereira
Derrick Pereira (born 17 March 1962) is an Indian association football manager and former player, who managed then I-League 2nd Division club FC Goa Reserves and the India national under-23 football team. He is also the technical director of Indian Super League club FC Goa. Playing career Pereira's story began in the late 1970s when he started playing for local Goa clubs as a Child (Antao Brothers). His first move to a top club was with Salgaocar SC in 1980 where he stayed on till 1983. Later he moved on to Tata Football Academy and then back to Salgaocar SC in 1985. He stayed on at Salgaocar till the end of his career in 1999. Amongst the highlights of his career were leading Goa to victory in the 1980 Junior National Championship. Caranzalem
Caranzalem (pronaunced Caranzale the alphabet m is silent) is a neighborhood located on the west side of the city of Panaji, capital of the Indian state of Goa. It is completely located on the island of Tiswadi, one of the talukas in the state of Goa. It is known for its beach with same name. The Caranzalem Beach is located at a distance of about 5 km. from the center of Panaji by Miramar, Goa, Miramar and Caranzalem. The beach is 3.5 km long which has stretches of white sand and clear water. The beach is considered safe for swimming. There are water sport facilities available and many hotels, restaurants and shacks in the area which serve Goan food and drinks. Miramar-Dona Paula road runs parallel to the beach. Rovers Cup
The Rovers Cup was an annual football tournament held in India, organized by the Western India Football Association. It was the second oldest tournament in India after Durand Cup. History Rovers Cup was incorporated by some British football enthusiasts in Bombay, Bombay Presidency, in 1890, as a form of amusement. After the foundation of Bombay Football Association (BFA) in 1902, the tournament became well organized. Patronised by Justice Russell, the tournament was firstly opened to British teams. Later in 1911, Western India Football Association was founded as a result of merger between BFA and Rovers Cup Committee. After justice Russel became president and P. R. IFA Shield
The IFA Shield is an annual football competition organized by the Indian Football Association. The IFA is the governing body of football in the state of West Bengal, came into existence in 1893. Named after the association, the IFA Shield tournament was started in the same year. It is the third oldest football tournament in India, after Durand Cup and Trades Cup, and the one of the oldest football competitions in the world. The royal houses of Patiala and Cooch Behar, A.A. The Federation Cup (also known as Hero Federation Cup for sponsorship reasons) was an annual knockout football competition in Indian football which started in 1977. From its inception, until I-League was started in 1997 (then called NFL), it was the most prestigious national level club football tournament in India. Until 2017, it was the most important club tournament after the I-League, to which it became a ''de facto'' League Cup. Winner of the Federation Cup was given direct entry in the AFC Cup. The National Football League (NFL) was a league competition featuring football clubs from India. Founded in 1996 through the All India Football Federation (AIFF), the NFL was the first football league in India to be organized on a national scale. The AIFF then added a second division in 1997 and a third division was soon added by the governing body in 2006. Jesús Rodríguez Tato (born 12 July 1983) is a Spanish former footballer who played as a striker, currently assistant manager of China League One club Sichuan Jiuniu. 2016–17 I-League
The 2016–17 I-League was the 10th season of the I-League, the top Indian professional league for association football clubs, since its establishment in 2007. The season began on 7 January 2017 and concluded on 30 April 2017. Aizawl won their first title on the final day after securing a draw against Shillong Lajong on 30 April 2017. Defending champions Bengaluru FC finished in the fourth place. Dempo had entered the league after being promoted from the I-League 2nd Division but withdrew from the league along with Salgaocar and Sporting Goa. David Booth (born 2 October 1948) is an English football manager and former player. Early years Booth was brought up in Darton near Barnsley and attended Queen Elizabeth Grammar School, Wakefield where he played rugby and cricket. Football was not played at his school. Dave joined Barnsley and made his first team debut at 19 years of age at left back where he played most of his career. He was later signed by Laurie McMenemy, later of Southampton and the England coaching staff, who was then manager of Grimsby Town.
