Derrell Dixon (born October 31, 1970 in Portland, OR) is an American former professional boxer who competed from 1997 to 2001. As an amateur, he was a two-time United States Amateur Heavyweight Champion. Amateur career Dixon had an outstanding amateur career prior to turning professional. He won the National AAU Heavyweight Championship in 1993 and 1994. Professional career Known as "Double D", Dixon turned professional in 2000 and had limited success. Robert Derrell Griffith (born December 12, 1943) is an American former professional baseball player. The outfielder and third baseman appeared in 124 games played in Major League Baseball for the Los Angeles Dodgers over parts of four seasons (–). Griffith was born in Anadarko, Oklahoma. He batted left-handed, threw right-handed, and was listed as tall and . Griffith graduated from high school in his hometown and attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University. He signed with the Dodgers before the season and posted solid offensive statistics in levels from Class B to Triple-A. After a one-game stint with Los Angeles in September , he was recalled by the Dodgers for an extended stay in MLB in June . Derrell Johnson-Koulianos (born February 24, 1987) and sometimes nicknamed DJK, is an American football player and was a wide receiver for the Iowa Hawkeyes during the 2007-2010 seasons. Currently, he is a free agent. During the 2007 season, Johnson-Koulianos caught 38 passes for 482 yards and two touchdowns. In 2008, he caught 44 passes for 639 yards and 3 touchdowns. In 2009, his productivity once again increased as he caught 45 passes for 750 yards and 2 touchdowns. Derrell Lavoice "Mookie" Mitchell (born September 16, 1971) is a former Canadian Football League slotback with the Toronto Argonauts and Edmonton Eskimos and former wide receivers coach for the Edmonton Eskimos. Junior College Career Mitchell attended Joliet Junior College. As a sophomore, he was an NJCAA second-team All-American pick, and was his league's co-Player of the Year. College career After a stellar career at Joliet Junior College, Mitchell transferred to Texas Tech. He finished his two-year NCAA college football career with 91 receptions for 1312 yards (14.42 yards per rec. avg.) and 9 touchdowns. Derrell Palmer
Derrell Palmer (August 27, 1922 – February 22, 2009) was an American football tackle who played eight seasons in the All-America Football Conference (AAFC) and in the National Football League (NFL), mainly with the Cleveland Browns. Palmer grew up in Texas and played college football at Texas Christian University, where he became the defensive captain and was named an All-American in 1943. After three years in the U.S. Marines, Palmer began his professional career with the New York Yankees in the AAFC. The Yankees won their division in 1946 and 1947, but lost in the AAFC championship game both years to the Browns. Palmer was traded to the Browns before the 1949 season and remained with the team through 1953. Cleveland won the AAFC championship in 1949 and the NFL championship in 1950. Derrell Robertson
Derrell Robertson (September 22, 1967 – December 5, 1994) was an American college football player from Tyler, Texas who played for Mississippi State University in 1988 and 1989. After college, Robertson signed with the Las Vegas Posse of the Canadian Football League in 1994. Robertson was killed in a car crash in December 1994 but was still drafted by the Ottawa Rough Riders in a dispersal draft after the Posse folded. Career After playing at Mississippi State, Robertson was signed by the Posse on April 7, 1994. However, he was killed in a car crash on December 5, 1994, about a month after the season ended. After the end of the 1994 Canadian Football League season, the Posse folded, and its players were made available to the other CFL teams through a dispersal draft in April 1995.
