Dermot Whelan
Dermot Whelan (born 16 February 1973) is an Irish comedian and television and radio presenter who has worked for both Raidió Telifís Éireann and in the commercial sector. As of 2023, he broadcasts on Today FM as one half of the ''Dermot & Dave'' show, an on-air pairing which dates from 2002. A native of Limerick, Whelan was a regular contributor on RTÉ's '' The Panel''. He is also the former host of ''Republic of Telly'' and has performed at several comedy festivals, including the Kilkenny Cat's Laugh Festival and the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. The 2009 Meteor Music Awards ceremony took place on 17 March 2009 in the Royal Dublin Society, RDS, Dublin. It was the ninth edition of Republic of Ireland, Ireland's national music awards. The event was recorded and it aired on RTÉ Two on 18 March 2009. The awards show was hosted by television presenter Amanda Byram.
