Dermis García Hernandez (born January 7, 1998) is a Dominican professional baseball infielder in the Washington Nationals organization. He has previously played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Oakland Athletics. The Las Vegas Aviators, formerly known as the Las Vegas 51s and Las Vegas Stars, are a Minor League Baseball team of the Pacific Coast League (PCL) and the Triple-A affiliate of the Oakland Athletics. The Algodoneros de Unión Laguna (English: Laguna Union Cotton Farmers) are a professional baseball team in the Mexican League based in Torreón, Coahuila. Sam Long (baseball)
Samuel Trenton Long (born July 8, 1995) is an American professional baseball pitcher for the San Francisco Giants of Major League Baseball (MLB). He played college baseball at California State University, Sacramento. He was drafted by the Tampa Bay Rays in the 18th round of the 2016 Major League Baseball draft. In 2018, at 23 years of age, he stopped playing baseball for a year and explored becoming a firefighter. He made his MLB debut in 2021. Designated for assignment (DFA) is a contractual term used in Major League Baseball (MLB). A player who is designated for assignment is immediately removed from the team's 40-man roster, after which the team must within seven days, return the player to the 40-man roster, place the player on waivers, trade the player, release the player, or outright the player from the 40-man roster into Minor League Baseball. Erick James Fedde (born February 25, 1993) is an American professional baseball pitcher for the NC Dinos of the KBO League. He previously played for the Washington Nationals of Major League Baseball (MLB). He played college baseball at UNLV. Amateur career Fedde attended Las Vegas High School in Sunrise Manor, Nevada. He was a pitcher and an outfielder. Among his teammates was Bryce Harper, a catcher who would later become the 2010 Major League Baseball draft's top overall pick, as well as Fedde's future Nationals teammate. He was drafted by the San Diego Padres in the 24th round of the 2011 Major League Baseball draft, but did not sign and attended the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV). Spring training is the preseason in Major League Baseball (MLB), a series of practices and exhibition games preceding the start of the regular season. Spring training allows new players to try out for Schedule (workplace), roster and position spots, and gives established players practice time prior to competitive play. A run batted in (RBI; plural RBIs ) is a statistic in baseball and softball that credits a batter for making a play that allows a run to be scored (except in certain situations such as when an error is made on the play). For example, if the batter bats a base hit which allows a teammate on a higher base to reach home and so score a run, then the batter gets credited with an RBI. In baseball, a home run (abbreviated HR) is scored when the ball is hit in such a way that the batter is able to circle the bases and reach home plate safely in one play without any errors being committed by the defensive team. A home run is usually achieved by hitting the ball over the outfield fence between the foul poles (or hitting either foul pole) without the ball touching the field. Far less common is the "inside-the-park" home run where the batter reaches home safely while the baseball is in play on the field. In baseball, batting average (BA) is determined by dividing a player's hits by their total at-bats. It is usually rounded to three decimal places and read without the decimal: A player with a batting average of .300 is "batting three-hundred". Games played (GP) is a statistic used in team sports to indicate the total number of games in which a player has participated (in any capacity); the statistic is generally applied irrespective of whatever portion of the game is contested. Baseball In baseball, the statistic applies to players, who prior to a game, are included on a starting lineup card or are announced as an ''ex ante'' substitute, whether or not they play. For pitchers only, the statistic games pitched is used.
