Derek Tracey
Derek Tracey (born 6 April 1971 in Dublin) is a retired League of Ireland association footballer who spent his entire 17 season senior career playing for Shamrock Rovers. He made his debut on 9 August 1989 against St James's Gate F.C. in the Leinster Senior Cup. Tracey made his League of Ireland debut on 19 November 1989 against Dundalk as a substitute. He got his first start following week in Cork. His first goal was against University College Dublin A.F.C. in a 1-0 win on 13 February 1990. He was the club's top goalscorer in 1994–95 with 8 league goals. He was ever present in the 1996-97 and 1997-98 seasons. Derek made his 250th league appearance in a great 3-1 win over Bohemians on 19 September 1999. On 26 May 2006, Tracey announced his retirement. During his time he made almost 500 senior appearances and as a versatile midfielder played in every position except goalkeeper. Tallaght Stadium
Tallaght Stadium ( ga, Staid Thamhlachta) is an association football stadium in the Republic of Ireland based in Tallaght, South Dublin. The club Shamrock Rovers originally announced details of the stadium in July, 1996. The stadium is now owned and operated by South Dublin County Council with Shamrock Rovers as the anchor tenants. FAI Super Cup
The FAI Super Cup was an association football super cup featuring clubs from the Republic of Ireland. It was played for between 1998 and 2001. It was a pre-season tournament played in the summer before the regular League of Ireland season began. The same four clubs that qualified to represent the Republic of Ireland in UEFA competitions also qualified for the Super Cup. League of Ireland clubs had previously played in a similar competition known as the Top Four Cup. A similar competition, the LFA President's Cup, co-existed with the FAI Super Cup. Since 2014 the FAI has organised a new super cup, the President's Cup. The 1993–94 League of Ireland Premier Division was the 9th season of the League of Ireland Premier Division. The division was made up of 12 teams. Shamrock Rovers won the title. Regular season The regular season initially saw the 12 teams use a traditional round-robin format with each team playing 22 games on a home and away basis. The division was then split into two groups, a top six and a bottom six. After the split, the six teams played the other teams in their group in a second series of 10 games again using a round-robin format. The League of Ireland Premier Division ( ga, Príomhroinn Sraith na hÉireann), also known as the SSE Airtricity League Premier Division for sponsorship reasons, is the top level division in both the League of Ireland and the Republic of Ireland football league system.
