Derek Hill (baseball)
Derek Jerome Hill (born December 30, 1995) is an American professional baseball center fielder in the Washington Nationals organization. Hill was drafted by the Detroit Tigers in the first round of the 2014 MLB draft, and he made his MLB debut for the team in 2020. Early life Hill grew up in Des Moines, Iowa with his mother and spent his summers with his father in Northern California, where he played baseball for select teams. In 2011, he moved to Sacramento and attended Elk Grove High School in Elk Grove, California. He batted an even .500 (47-for-94) in his senior season, with 11 doubles, seven triples 30 runs batted in (RBI) and 29 stolen bases. Toledo Mud Hens
The Toledo Mud Hens are a Minor League Baseball team of the International League and the Triple-A affiliate of the Detroit Tigers. They are located in Toledo, Ohio, and play their home games at Fifth Third Field. A Mud Hens team has played in Toledo for most seasons since 1896, including a 50-year history as a member of the now defunct American Association. The current franchise was established in 1965. They joined Triple-A East in 2021, but this was renamed the International League in 2022. Background Professional baseball had been played off and on in Toledo since 1883, and the Mud Hens era began in 1896 with the "Swamp Angels", who played in the Interstate League. In baseball, a stolen base occurs when a runner advances to a base to which they are not entitled and the official scorer rules that the advance should be credited to the action of the runner. The umpires determine whether the runner is safe or out at the next base, but the official scorer rules on the question of credit or blame for the advance under Rule 10 (Rules of Scoring) of the MLB's Official Rules. Akil Neomon Baddoo (born August 16, 1998) is an American professional baseball outfielder for the Detroit Tigers of Major League Baseball (MLB). He made his MLB debut in 2021. Early life Baddoo was born in Silver Spring, Maryland to parents John and Akilah. His father is originally from Ghana and his mother is from Trinidad and Tobago. He was educated and played varsity baseball at Salem High School in Conyers, Georgia. Career Minnesota Twins Baddoo was drafted out of high school by the Minnesota Twins in the second round of the 2016 Major League Baseball draft. Zach Robert Plesac (born January 21, 1995) is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Cleveland Guardians of Major League Baseball (MLB). Jacoby Rashi'd Jones (born July 11, 1984) is a former American football wide receiver and return specialist. He played college football at Lane College, and was drafted by the Houston Texans in the third round of the 2007 NFL Draft. He played for the Texans from 2007 to 2011. The Lakeland Flying Tigers are a Minor League Baseball team of the Florida State League and the Single-A affiliate of the Detroit Tigers. The West Michigan Whitecaps are a Minor League Baseball team of the Midwest League and the High-A affiliate of the Detroit Tigers.
