Psychosis
Psychosis is a condition of the mind that results in difficulties determining what is real and what is not real. Symptoms may include delusions and hallucinations, among other features. Additional symptoms are incoherent speech and behavior that is inappropriate for a given situation. There may also be sleep problems, social withdrawal, lack of motivation, and difficulties carrying out daily activities. Psychosis can have serious adverse outcomes. As with many psychiatric phenomena, psychosis has several different causes. These include mental illness, such as schizophrenia or schizoaffective disorder, bipolar disorder, sensory deprivation and in rare cases, major depression (psychotic depression). Other causes include: trauma, sleep deprivation, some medical conditions, certain medications, and drugs such as cannabis, hallucinogens, and stimulants. One type, known as postpartum psychosis, can occur after giving birth. The neurotransmitter dopamine is believed to p ...

Deranged (1974 Film)
''Deranged'' (also known as ''Deranged: Confessions of a Necrophile'') is a 1974 psychological horror film directed by Alan Ormsby and Jeff Gillen, and starring Roberts Blossom. Its plot, loosely based on the crimes of Ed Gein, follows Ezra Cobb, a middle-aged man in a rural Midwestern community who begins a string of serial murders and grave robberies after the death of his mother, a religious fanatic who raised him to be a misogynist. Though based on Gein, the film's title is misleading since Gein never experimented with necrophilia; although a necrophile is also defined as "an obsessive fascination with death and corpses." Funded by an American concert promoter on a small budget, the production took place in Oshawa, Ontario in the winter of 1973, with a largely Canadian cast and crew. The film premiered in Los Angeles on March 20, 1974. The film had disappeared since its release in 1974; however, it was rediscovered in Florida in the mid-90s and was released into home video ...

Deranged (band)
Deranged is a Swedish death metal band formed in 1991. The band was named after the 1974 movie '' Deranged''. History Formed in 1991, Deranged is a very peculiar band in the Swedish scene: unlike bands such as Grave, Entombed and Dismember, Deranged does not have the more melodic Swedish sound their contemporaries are known for and plays a very fast and technical deathgrind with several groove influences. Drawing inspirations from Cannibal Corpse, Carcass, Morbid Angel, Suffocation and Napalm Death, the band is better associated with US death metal. The band have released the singles ''The Confessions of a Necrophile'' -title directly extracted of the movie- (1992) and ''Upon the Medical Slab'' (1994), the EPs ''The Confessions Continue'' (1993), ''Architects of Perversions'' (1994) and ''Sculpture of the Dead'' (1996) and the albums ''Rated X'' (1995), ''High on Blood'' (1998), ''III'' (2000), ''Deranged'' (2001), ''Plainfield Cemetery'' (2002), ''Obscenities in B-Flat'' (20 ...

Drainage System (geomorphology)
In geomorphology, drainage systems, also known as river systems, are the patterns formed by the streams, rivers, and lakes in a particular drainage basin. They are governed by the topography of land, whether a particular region is dominated by hard or soft rocks, and the gradient of the land. Geomorphologists and hydrologists often view streams as part of drainage basins (and sub-basins). This is the topographic region from which a stream receives runoff, throughflow, and its saturated equivalent, groundwater flow. The number, size, and shape of the drainage basins varies and the larger and more detailed the topographic map, the more information is available. Drainage patterns Per the lie of channels, drainage systems can fall into one of several categories, known as drainage patterns. These depend on the topography and geology of the land. All forms of transitions can occur between parallel, dendritic, and trellis patterns. Accordant versus discordant drainage patterns A drai ...

Ibrahim Of The Ottoman Empire
Ibrahim (; ota, ابراهيم; tr, İbrahim; 5 November 1615 – 18 August 1648) was the Sultan of the Ottoman Empire from 1640 until 1648. He was born in Constantinople, the son of Sultan Ahmed I by Kösem Sultan, an ethnic Greek originally named Anastasia. He was called Ibrahim the Mad ( tr, Deli İbrahim) due to his mental condition and behavior. However, historian Scott Rank notes that his opponents spread rumors of the sultan's insanity, and some historians suggest he was more incompetent than mad. Early life Ibrahim was born on 5 November 1615, the son of Sultan Ahmed I and his Haseki Sultan and perphaps legal wife, Kösem Sultan. When Ibrahim was 2, his father suddenly died, and Ibrahim's uncle Mustafa I became the new sultan. By that time, Kosem Sultan and her children, including young Ibrahim had been sent to the Old Palace. After the succession of his brother Murad IV, Ibrahim was confined in the Kafes, which affected his health. Ibrahim's other brothers Şehzade B ...
