''Der Mann, der sich in Luft auflöste'' (“The man who disappeared into thin air”) (Swedish: ''Mannen som gick upp i rök'') is a German 1980 police film about Martin Beck, directed by Péter Bacsó. Plot During the height of a Cold War, a drunken reporter from Sweden disappears without a trace while on a business trip in Budapest. Meanwhile, the tabloid for which he was writing sounds an alarm, with the Swedish government trying to avoid direct confrontation with the Hungarian police. Martin Beck, a detective, takes the case, and is sent behind enemy lines as a private citizen, to find the reporter and bring him back to Sweden. However, the official of the homicide commission faces a dilemma: How will he be able to locate a Swedish national in a city of two million? They need to interrogate charming Ari, a Hungarian girlfriend of the missing person, to gather the clues on his whereabouts. Péter Bacsó
Péter Bacsó (6 January 1928 – 11 March 2009) was a Hungarian film director and screenwriter. After high school graduation Bacsó wanted to become an actor and later a theatre director, but ultimately decided to try filmmaking. His first job in a film was as an assistant in Géza Radványi's ''Valahol Európában'' (''Somewhere in Europe'') at the age of 19. He continued as a script editor and screenwriter. He graduated at the Hungarian School of Theatrical- and Film Arts in 1950. At the time he was already a familiar face in studios. He was a successful screenwriter during the 1950s before beginning to direct films a decade later. He made his first feature film, ''Nyáron egyszerű'' in 1963. He made his most famous film, '' A tanú'' (''The Witness'') in 1969, but it was banned at the time and wasn't released until 1979. Tomas Bolme
Tomas Robert Olof Bolme (born 21 April 1945 in Högalid, Stockholm) is a Swedish actor. He is famous for being the Swedish voice of Tintin, and he is also the voice of the anime hero Cobra. As a child, he acted at Vår teater, a children's theatre in Stockholm. He studied at Teaterhögskolan in Stockholm during the years 1966 to 1969. Bolme has performed at Fria Proteatern, Royal Dramatic Theatre, Stockholm City Theatre and Riksteatern. He has also recorded several audiobooks and one of them is Jan Guillou's ''Coq Rouge''. Bolme is a former member of the political party Communist League Marxists-Leninists ( sv, Kommunistiska förbundet marxist-leninisterna, ''KFML''). Zoltán Gera (; born 22 April 1979) is a Hungarian former professional footballer who played as an attacking midfielder. He played for Fulham, Pécsi Mecsek and Harkány SE, as well as enjoying two spells at Ferencváros and West Bromwich Albion. Kjell Bertil Leonard Bergqvist (born 23 February 1953 in Enskede, Stockholm County) is a Swedish actor. Bergqvist finished the Royal Dramatic Training Academy in 1973 and made his debut in '' En enkel melodi'' and ''Jack''. He has since cooperated for many years with scriptwriter and director Ulf Malmros. During the 1990s he has recorded several police films playing Martin Beck's colleague Lennart Kollberg.
