Der Landarzt
''Der Landarzt'' is a German television series that aired for 22 seasons from 1987 to 2013. During early seasons, the show revolves around country doctor Dr. Karsten Matthiesen who runs a practice in his Northern German hometown of Deekelsen with the help of his mother Olga. In season 5, after Karsten has died in an accident, Dr. Uli Teschner succeeds him, until being replaced by Dr. Jan Bergmann in season 18. Herbert Lichtenfeld
Herbert Lichtenfeld (16 June 1927 in Leipzig – 11 December 2001 in Hamburg) was one of the most successful television screenplay writers in Germany. He wrote over 300 film scripts. Many of his scripts were successful in Germany. Life After graduating in Leipzig, Lichtenfeld moved into the Federal Republic, and there worked as a reporter on several newspapers. In the 1960s he became the television correspondent for Hörzu magazine. At this time he started to write radio plays and books. From 1968 he worked full-time as a screenplay writer. His first television film ''Deutschlandreise'' (German Journey) (1970, co-production between NDR and NRK) was awarded with the Grimme-Preis. A little later he began a partnership with the then still unknown director Wolfgang Petersen. Together they developed a series about police detective Finke (Klaus Schwarzkopf) for the TV series ''Tatort''. These achieved ratings of over seventy per cent. Christian Urs Quadflieg (; 11 April 194516 July 2023) was a German actor and television director. After working at various theatres, he became a freelance actor from 1974 onwards. He had his breakthrough on television in 1977 in the episode from the series. He had roles in many popular television series, namely the title role in , which he played for 42 episodes from 1987 to 1992. Life and career Quadflieg was born in Växjö, Sweden, on 11 April 1945, one of five children. His father was the German actor Will Quadflieg, who had played Faust opposite Gustaf Gründgens. His mother was Benita von Vegesack, a Swedish countess. He grew up in Hamburg, where he completed school with the Abitur.
