Depth Affect
Depth Affect was a French music group, active from 2004 to 2012. Their style was influenced by hip-hop, electronica, and pop. Originally a duo of David Bideau and Rémy Charrier, from Nantes, France, in 2004 they opened for Alias. The duo added DJ Kalmook (Frédéric Puren) et the VJ DeesK (Xavier Brunet) and produced ''Arche Lymb'' in 2006, with the Autres Directions in Music label. The album was well-received critically. Afterwards the group performed at festivals and concerts in France along with rinôçérôse, Why?, dEUS, Coldcut, and Franz Ferdinand. In 2008 the group released ''Hero Crisis'' which was considered more accessible, consistent and catchy than the first album. In 2010 the group made the EP ''Chorea''. Alias (artist)
Brendon Whitney (April 5, 1976 – March 30, 2018), better known by his stage name Alias, was a producer and rapper from Hollis, Maine. He was a co-founder of the indie hip hop record label Anticon. History Alias originally performed as a rapper with Sole in the group Live Poets. He also produced his own songs, but would still rap over another producer's beats. He moved to California in 1999 to start the label Anticon, as well as to focus on his music. Later on, as Alias began working with Anticon, he produced tracks for the emcees on the label. In 2002, Alias released his first solo album ''The Other Side of the Looking Glass''. He produced and rapped on the album. After that, Alias moved away from rapping to focus solely on production. Rinôçérôse (stylized as rinôçérôse or «rinôçérôse») is a French band founded by Jean-Philippe Freu and Patrice Carrié that mixes rock music and electronic dance music. The duo of musicians also work as psychologists, calling themselves, "Psychologists by day, musicians by night". They compose music in English, French, and German. They are based in Montpellier (Occitanie). "Le Mobilier" was the single that established Rinôçérôse on the map of international dance music. The song "Cubicle", from their album, ''Schizophonia'', was featured on a television advertisement for Apple's iTunes and iPod. ''Schizophonia'' marks a new turning point in the band's music, with a more mainstream rock groove rather than a more ambient electronic sound. Why? (styled as WHY?) is an American alternative hip hop and indie rock band. The band was founded in 2004 by Cincinnati rapper and singer Yoni Wolf, who had been using Why? as his stage name since 1997. Coldcut are an English electronic music duo composed of Matt Black and Jonathan More. Franz Ferdinand are a Scottish rock band formed in Glasgow in 2002.
