Depressive Age
Depressive Age is a German thrash metal band from Berlin. The group released four studio albums throughout the 1990s before renaming themselves D-Age and disbanding in 2001. History Depressive Age was founded under the name Blackout in 1984, with the band releasing one demo before changing their name to Depressive Age in 1988. The group released their first studio album, ''First Depression'', in 1992. ''First Depression'' was followed by the albums ''Lying in Wait'' (1993), ''Symbols for the Blue Times'' (1994) and ''Electric Scum'' in 1996, the latter two of which showcased less thrash metal influences and included forays into alternative rock. In 1997, the band once again changed their name, this time to D-Age, releasing the extended play ''Smalltown Boy'', which featured a cover of the Bronski Beat song of the same name, which had previously appeared on ''Electric Scum''. 1999 saw the release of the compilation album ''From Depressive Age to D-Age'', and in 2001, the band bro ... Thrash Metal

Progressive Metal
Progressive metal (sometimes shortened to prog metal) is a broad fusion music genre melding heavy metal and progressive rock, combining the loud "aggression" and amplified guitar-driven sound of the former with the more experimental, cerebral or "pseudo-classical" compositions of the latter. One of these experimental examples introduced to modern metal was djent. The music typically showcases the extreme technical proficiency of the performers and usually uses unorthodox harmonies as well as complex rhythms with frequent meter changes and intense syncopation. While the genre emerged towards the late-1980s, it was not until the 1990s that progressive metal achieved widespread success. GUN Records (''Great Unlimited Noises'') was a record label located in Bochum, Germany, founded in 1992 by Bogdan Kopec ( DRAKKAR Promotion Musikverlag GmbH) and Wolfgang Funk. Different artists on the label have had hit singles as well as albums in Europe. A branch of the label known as Supersonic Records existed until 2005, when GUN's parent company BMG merged with Sony. Bronski Beat
Bronski Beat were a British synthpop trio which achieved success in the mid-1980s, particularly with the 1984 chart hit "Smalltown Boy", from their debut album '' The Age of Consent''. "Smalltown Boy" was their only US ''Billboard'' Hot 100 single. All members of the band were openly gay and their songs reflected this, often containing political commentary on gay-related issues. The initial line-up, which recorded the majority of the band's hits, consisted of Jimmy Somerville (vocals), Steve Bronski (born Steven William Forrest, keyboards, percussion) and Larry Steinbachek (keyboards, percussion). Simon Davolls regularly contributed backing vocals on many songs. Somerville left Bronski Beat in 1985, and went on to have success as lead singer of the Communards and as a solo artist.
