Deportivo Toluca Fútbol Club S.A. de C.V. (), commonly known as Club Deportivo Toluca, is a Mexican football club, playing in the Primera División de México, the top-flight of Mexican football. Toluca's stadium, Estadio Nemesio Díez Riega is located in Toluca de Lerdo, State of Mexico in Mexico. The team was founded on February 12, 1917 by the brothers Manuel and Francisco Henkel Bros owners of the farm "La Huerta" located in Zinacantepec near of Toluca City. Toluca has won the Mexican Primera División 10 times, making it the third most winning team, behind América (13) and Guadalajara (12). Estadio Nemesio Díez
The Estadio Nemesio Díez (Nemesio Diez Stadium), nicknamed "La Bombonera" (The Chocolate Box) due to its shape, is one of the oldest football stadiums in Mexico. Opened on August 8, 1954, with a capacity of 27,273, it is located in the city of Toluca, State of Mexico, near Mexico City. It is the home of Deportivo Toluca Fútbol Club. This stadium has hosted two World Cups ( 1970 and 1986). The stadium sits at an altitude of roughly above sea level, one of the highest altitude stadiums in North America. A former nuance about this stadium is that it did not have a lighting system, which forced the local team as a tradition to play at noon. Ignacio Trelles
Ignacio Trelles Campos (31 July 1916 – 24 March 2020) was a Mexican football player and manager. As a player with Club Necaxa, they won three Mexican championships. Later he coached amongst others the Mexico national team. A seasoned and decorated manager, Trelles managed 1083 club matches, with 463 wins, 319 draws and 301 losses. He took Cruz Azul to consecutive México Primera División (Mexico First Division) championships, 1979 and 1980; a feat the team has yet to repeat. Early life Trelles was born in Guadalajara. As a child, he was very athletic, engaging in many different sports. In his teenage years, Trelles's family relocated to San Miguel Chapultepec where he regularly played football in the streets. Club de Futbol Cruz Azul or simply Cruz Azul () is a professional football club based in Mexico City, Mexico. It competes in the Liga MX, the top division of Mexican football. José Cardozo
José Saturnino Cardozo Otazú (; born 19 March 1971) is a Paraguayan football manager and former professional footballer. He played as a striker and spent 10 years of his career playing for Toluca and is the club's all-time top goalscorer. He also managed Toluca in 2013 up to 2016. He is currently manager for Liga Nacional club Municipal. Cardozo earned 82 caps for Paraguay between 1991 and 2006, putting him ninth in their most-capped players of all time, with his haul of 25 international goals the second most for the nation. José Manuel Abundis Sandoval (born 11 June 1973) is a Mexican former professional footballer who played as a forward. Career Abundis last played for Querétaro F.C. in 2008. He made his debut for the New England Revolution in Major League Soccer on 30 September 2006, scoring the second goal in a 3–1 victory against Columbus Crew SC, but was not re-signed at the end of the season, following disputes with coach Steve Nicol over playing time.
