John Rimmington
John Rimington MHK was the Minister of Local Government and the Environment of the Isle of Man Government from 2004 to 2006. He was also Member of the House of Keys between 2000 and 2006 for Rushen Rushen ( ; gv, Rosien), formally Kirk Christ Rushen, is one of the seventeen historic parishes of the Isle of Man. It is located in the south of the island (part of the traditional ''South Side'' division) in the sheading of the same name. The Lieutenant Governor of the Isle of Man ( gv, Fo-chiannoort Vannin or ''Lhiass-chiannoort Vannin'') is the Lord of Mann's official personal representative in the Isle of Man. Miles Walker
Sir Miles Rawstron Walker (born 13 November 1940) is a Manx businessman and politician, who was the first ever Chief Minister of the Isle of Man. Early life and career Born on 13 November 1940 to George Denis Walker and Alice (née Whittaker), he was educated at Castle Rushen High School and the Shropshire Agricultural College. He later went on to become a company director in the farming and retail dairy trade. He was an Arbory commissioner (a local government role) from 1970 until 1976, latterly as the chairman. In 1976 he was elected as an MHK for Rushen. He remained an MHK until he retired at the 2001 General Election. In 1986 he was elected as the island's first ever Chief Minister, and continued in the post until the 1996 election. He was honoured as Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in 1991. Dominic Francis Kevin Delaney is a former member of the House of Keys and the Legislative Council of the Isle of Man, where he sat as a member of the Alliance for Progressive Government. James Anthony Brown OBE (born 5 January 1950) is a Manx politician, former businessman and electrician who was the Chief Minister of the Isle of Man from 2006 until October 2011, when he stepped down from office following his decision to retire. Early life and career Born on 5 January 1950, Brown was educated at Victoria Road Primary, Castletown and Castle Rushen High School and has since been an electrician, being the proprietor of Tony Brown Electrics in Castletown until its closure in 2010. He was elected as a member of Castletown Commissioners in 1976, becoming Chairman in 1980 before being elected as the Castletown MHK in 1981 at his first attempt. Richard Edgar Quine (born Richard Edgar Quine on 16 August 1934) is a Manx politician. After serving in the Hong Kong Police Force, he was elected to the House of Keys in 1986, where he represented Ayre until 2004. Edgar Quine was the leader of the Manx political party, the Alliance for Progressive Government and served as deputy Speaker of the House of Keys between 2002 and 2004. He also serves as President of Ayre United F.C. He married his wife Ann in Hong Kong on 15 July 1959. The couple celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 2009. Walter Gilbey
Sir Walter Gilbey, 1st Baronet, (2 May 1831 – 12 November 1914) was an English wine-merchant, horse-breeder, author, and philanthropist. Early life Gilbey was born at 11, Windhill, Bishop's Stortford, Hertfordshire to Henry Gilbey (1789–1842) and Elizabeth (died 1869), a daughter of William Bailey, of Stansted Mountfichet, Essex. Henry Gilbey, of Essex farming stock, had gone into innkeeping at Stansted, becoming landlord of the Bell Inn, but after the economic depression resulting from the Napoleonic Wars he had to seek other employment. Settling at Bishop's Stortford, he established a successful daily coach service travelling to and from London, often driving himself. The arrival of the railway put an end to this business, and Henry returned to his former occupation as landlord of the Red Lion Inn at Hockerill.
