The Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) is a federal school system headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia, responsible for planning, directing, coordinating, and managing prekindergarten through 12th grade educational programs on behalf of the United States Department of Defense (DoD). DoDEA is globally positioned, operating 163 accredited schools in 8 districts located in 11 foreign countries, 7 states, Guam, and Puerto Rico. DoDEA employs 15,000 employees who serve 71,000 children of active duty military and DoD civilian families. DoDEA operates as a field activity of the Office of the Secretary of Defense (Personnel and Readiness). Harnett County Schools
Harnett County Schools is a PK– 12 graded school district serving Harnett County, North Carolina. Its 28 schools serve 20,615 students as of the 2015–16 school year. High school students living in the Linden Oaks housing development, of Fort Bragg, are assigned to Harnett County Schools' Overhills High School. History A push for school consolidation began in the 1920s. By 1933, more modern high schools and community schools were developed. Another push for consolidation occurred in the 1970s after desegregation. The latter push for school consolidations began in 1963. However, county residents four times rejected bond referendums that would help pay for new schools. Even though the bond referendum failed in 1974, the county commissioners moved forward with their plans for the school construction, approving a tax increase to help fund it. Highland Falls-Fort Montgomery Central School District (HFFMCSD) is a school district headquartered in Highland Falls, New York. History After 1997 the district educated students at Saint Basil Academy in Garrison after that institution stopped in-house instruction. In 2003, Highland Falls-Fort Montgomery stopped allowing St. Basil students to attend classes at Highland Falls-Fort Montgomery because St. Basil was not paying tuition for the students. Saint Basil had failed to pay $237,000 to HFFMCSD. Quantico MS/HS
Quantico Middle High School is a public secondary school on Marine Corps Base Quantico, and in unincorporated Prince William County, Virginia. It is a part of the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA). History It originated from the Quantico Post School, an elementary through high school on the base. A dedicated secondary school building opened in 1962. The sixth grade was moved to Quantico High in 1988. Quantico Middle School was administratively separated in 1989 with a new separate entrance, but the middle and high schools combined into Quantico Middle High School in 1997. King George High School
King George High School is a high school in King George County, Virginia, United States. It has been the only high school in the county since 1968, when the county's schools were integrated and Ralph Bunche High School was closed. In 2006 ground was broken on a new high school building that opened in February 2008. It is the school district for areas adjacent to Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division.
