Department For Business And Trade
The Department for Business and Trade (DBT) is a department of His Majesty's Government established on 7 February 2023, after a government reshuffle, the first by prime minister Rishi Sunak. The new department absorbed the functions of the former Department for International Trade (DIT) and some of the functions of the former Department for Business, Energy, and Industrial Strategy (BEIS). The department is headed by the Secretary of State for Business and Trade, assisted by a number of junior ministers. The present incumbent and the first to hold the role is Kemi Badenoch; she is also President of the Board of Trade and Minister for Women and Equalities. The Competition Appeal Tribunal (CAT) of the United Kingdom was created by Section 12 and Schedule 2 to the Enterprise Act 2002 which came into force on 1 April 2003. Groceries Code Adjudicator
The Groceries Code Adjudicator (or ''Supermarket Ombudsman'') is an independent statutory office responsible for enforcing the Groceries Supply Code of Practice and to regulate the relationship between supermarkets and their direct suppliers within the United Kingdom. The post was created by the Groceries Code Adjudicator Act 2013 and is an independent office within the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy. The Financial Reporting Council (FRC) is an independent regulator in the UK and Ireland based in London Wall in the City of London, responsible for regulating auditors, accountants and actuaries, and setting the UK's Corporate Governance and Stewardship Codes.
