Deonte Banks
Deonte Banks (born March 3, 2001) is an American football cornerback for the New York Giants of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Maryland Terrapins football, Maryland and was selected by the Giants in the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft. Early years Banks was born on March 3rd, in Baltimore, Maryland. He attended Edgewood High School (Maryland), Edgewood High School before playing college football for the Maryland Terrapins football, Maryland Terrapins at the University of Maryland, College Park. Banks also briefly attended Saint Frances Academy (Baltimore, Maryland), Saint Frances Academy in high school, but ended up transferring out successfully. As a freshman, he recorded 28 tackles, an Interception (American football), interception, and 2 pass breakups. A cornerback (CB) is a member of the defensive backfield or secondary in gridiron football. Cornerbacks cover receivers most of the time, but also blitz and defend against such offensive running plays as sweeps and reverses. They create turnovers through hard tackles, interceptions, and deflecting forward passes. Other members of the defensive backfield include strong and free safeties. The cornerback position requires speed, agility, strength, and the ability to make rapid sharp turns.
