Ceres is the administrative centre and largest town of the Witzenberg Local Municipality in the Western Cape Province of South Africa. In the game of rugby union, there are 15 players on each team, comprising eight forwards (wearing jerseys numbered 1–8) and seven backs (numbered 9–15). The Pumas (known as the Airlink Pumas for sponsorship reasons) are a South African rugby union team that competes in the Premier Division of the Currie Cup and the Northern Section of the Vodacom Cup. Annual Vodacom Cup competitions were played between its inaugural season in 1998 and 2015 and was contested between February and May each year.
