Denzil Onslow (cricketer)
Denzil Onslow (27 July 1802 – 10 February 1879) was an English first-class cricket, first-class cricketer associated with Cambridge University Cricket Club, Cambridge University who was active in the 1820s. He is recorded in two matches from 1821 to 1825, totalling 31 runs with a highest score of 26. Onslow was the eldest son of Denzil Onslow (British Army officer), General Denzil Onslow (1770–1838), of Staughton House, Great Staughton. He was educated at Eton College, Eton and Trinity College, Cambridge. He was admitted to Lincoln's Inn in 1823 but is not recorded to have been called to the bar. He succeeded to Staughton House on his father's death and was a Magistrate (England and Wales), Justice of the Peace, and also High Sheriff of Huntingdonshire in 1963. References

Denzil Onslow Of Pyrford
Denzil Onslow of Pyrford (c.1642 – 27 June 1721) was a British Whig politician who sat in the English and British House of Commons between 1679 and 1721. Through advantageous marriages, he obtained a country estate and became prominent in Surrey politics of the Hanoverian era, although his great nephew Arthur Onslow, as Speaker, judged that Denzil knew "no more of the business f the House of Commonsthan one who had been of the standing of a session". Early career and marriage As the sixth son of the Parliamentarian Sir Richard Onslow, he inherited little from his father. He was named after Denzil Holles, who stood as his godfather. Apprenticed in December 1661 to William Peake, of London, he soon turned elsewhere to seek his fortune. Denzil Onslow of Stoughton ( – 15 November 1765) of Mickleham, Surrey was a British politician. A member of the influential Onslow family of Surrey, he held a number of lucrative Government posts, and died owing a relatively large sum to the Treasury through mismanagement of his accounts. Personal life He was the son of Richard Onslow (d. 1719) and Sarah Manning, and grandson of Sir Henry Onslow, of Drungewick, who was a younger son of Sir Richard Onslow. His mother was Sarah, daughter of Thomas Calvert. A member of a junior branch of the Onslow family, which held a powerful Parliamentary interest in Surrey, he married Anne Middleton, the daughter of his second cousin Anne and Thomas Middleton. Denzil Onslow (British Army Officer)
General Denzil Onslow (12 September 1770 – 21 August 1838) was a British soldier. He was born at Marylebone, London, the son of the British Member of Parliament Middleton Onslow. Military career He was commissioned as an ensign in the 1st Regiment of Foot Guards in 1787 and was promoted to lieutenant in 1793, with the rank of captain in the Army. In 1794 he purchased the rank of major in the 19th Regiment of Foot, and later that year was appointed lieutenant-colonel of Sir James Grant's newly-raised 97th Regiment of Foot. The regiment was disbanded the following year, so he was on half-pay when granted the brevet rank of colonel in 1800. He was thereafter promoted by seniority to major-general in 1805, lieutenant-general in 1811, and general in 1825.
