Jay Denny
Jay Denny (born January 6, 1986) is an American soccer player. A midfielder, Denny began his career with Stoke City but never appeared for the first team. He made 14 appearances in the Football League for Shrewsbury Town. He then moved into non-League football and played for Nuneaton Borough, Brackley Town, Halesowen Town, Leamington, Halesowen Town, Hednesford Town and Worcester City before joining Solihull Moors in 2012. In international football, Denny played for the United States at under-17 and under-20 level. Sandy Denny
Alexandra Elene MacLean Denny (6 January 1947 – 21 April 1978) was an English singer who was lead singer of the British folk rock band Fairport Convention. She has been described as "the pre-eminent British folk rock singer". After briefly working with the Strawbs, Denny joined Fairport Convention in 1968, remaining with them until 1969. She formed the short-lived band Fotheringay in 1970, before focusing on a solo career. Between 1971 and 1977, Denny released four solo albums: ''The North Star Grassman and the Ravens'', '' Sandy'', '' Like an Old Fashioned Waltz'' and '' Rendezvous''. She also duetted with Robert Plant on "The Battle of Evermore" for Led Zeppelin's album ''Led Zeppelin IV'' in 1971. Ross Patrick Denny (born 1955) is a British diplomat who has been the British Ambassador to Costa Rica and Nicaragua since 2015. He was appointed as ambassador on 3 February 2015 and succeeded Sharon Campbell and Chris Campbell in September that year. Reginald Oliver Denny
Reginald Oliver Denny (born 1953) is a former construction truck driver who was pulled from his truck and severely beaten during the 1992 Los Angeles riots. His attackers, a group of Black men who came to be known as the "L.A. Four", targeted Denny because he was White. The attack was captured on video by a news helicopter and broadcast live on U.S. national television. Four other Black L.A. residents who had been witnessing the attack on live television came to Denny's aid, placing him back in his truck and driving him to the hospital. Denny suffered a fractured skull and impairment of his speech and his ability to walk, for which he underwent years of rehabilitative therapy. Reginald Leigh Dugmore (20 November 189116 June 1967), known professionally as Reginald Denny, was an English actor, aviator, and UAV pioneer. Acting career Born Reginald Leigh Dugmore on 20 November 1891 in Richmond, Surrey, England (part of Greater London since 1965), he came from a theatrical family; his father was actor and opera singer W.H. Denny. In 1899, he began his stage career in ''A Royal Family'' and starred in several London productions from age seven to twelve. Raymond O'Brien Denny (born 21 January 1963) is a former international cricketer who represented the American national side between 1991 and 2000. He played as a wicket-keeper. Denny was born in Barbados, in Saint James Parish. Having represented Barbados at under-19 level, he toured England with the West Indies under-19s in 1982, playing several internationals against the England under-19s. After emigrating to the United States, Denny made his debut for the U.S. national team in 1991, against Canada. At the 1994 ICC Trophy in Kenya, he played in five of his team's seven matches, sharing the wicket-keeping duties with Garfield Wildman. Peter Denny
Peter Denny FRSE LLD (25 October 1821 – 22 August 1895) was a shipbuilder and shipowner based in Dumbarton, Scotland. Parents and education Denny was the son of William Denny (1779–1833) and his wife Christeanne Macintyre. He was first apprenticed to a local lawyer and then to the Dumbarton glassworks. Aged 21 he returned to shipbuilding, which was the established family occupation, and worked as a bookkeeper for Robert Napier and Sons. Career In 1844 Peter became a junior partner alongside his brothers in Denny Brothers. He was responsible for managing the offices in that business. In 1849 the company was dissolved and reformed as William Denny and Brothers. In partnership with John McAusland and John Tulloch, he formed a marine engineering company in 1850 (Tulloch and Denny). Martin Denny (April 10, 1911 – March 2, 2005) was an American pianist and composer best known as the "father of exotica." In a long career that saw him performing up to 3 weeks prior to his death, he toured the world popularizing his brand of lounge music which included exotic percussion, imaginative rearrangements of popular songs, and original songs that celebrated Tiki culture. John Denny (politician)
John Denny (May 4, 1793 – July 28, 1875) was an American pioneer and politician. Born in Mercer County, Kentucky, Denny served in the Kentucky Volunteers regiment during the War of 1812. In 1816, Denny, his wife, and family moved to Washington County, Indiana and then to Putnam County, Indiana. Then, in 1835, Denny, his wife, and family settled in Knox County, Illinois. While living in Knox County, Illinois Denny served as justice of the peace. From 1840 to 1842, Denny served in the Illinois House of Representatives. He was a Whig and then a Republican. He settled in Seattle, Washington where he died. His son was Arthur A.
