Dennis Wirgowski
Dennis Wirgowski (September 20, 1947 – January 25, 2014) was an American football player who played defensive end. He played high school football at Bay City High School and college football at Purdue University. He played professionally in the National Football League for the Boston Patriots (later the New England Patriots) and the Philadelphia Eagles. Defensive End
Defensive end (DE) is a defensive position in the sport of gridiron football. This position has designated the players at each end of the defensive line, but changes in formation (American football), formations over the years have substantially changed how the position is played. History Early formations, with six- and seven-man line defense, seven-man lines, used the end as a containment player, whose job was first to prevent an "end run" around his position, then secondarily to force plays inside. Chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) is a neurodegenerative disease linked to repeated trauma to the head. The encephalopathy symptoms can include behavioral problems, mood problems, and problems with thinking. The disease often gets worse over time and can result in dementia.
