Dennis McCarthy (composer)
Dennis McCarthy (born July 3, 1945) is an American composer of television and film scores. His soundtrack credits include several entries in the ''Star Trek'' franchise, including underscores for ''The Next Generation,'' ''Deep Space Nine'', ''Voyager'', ''Enterprise'', and the 1994 feature film ''Star Trek Generations''. His other television credits include ''Dynasty'', ''V'', ''MacGyver'', ''Sliders'', ''Dawson's Creek,'' and ''Project Greenlight.'' He also produced the album ''Ol' Yellow Eyes Is Back'' by Brent Spiner also from ''Star Trek'', and composed music for stage productions. McCarthy has won 18 ASCAP awards and a Primetime Emmy Award for his theme on ''Deep Space Nine'', in addition to nine Emmy nominations for his various ''Star Trek''-related work. ''Sliders'' is an American science fiction and fantasy television series created by Robert K. Weiss and Tracy Tormé. It was broadcast for five seasons between 1995 and 2000. The series follows a group of travelers as they use a wormhole to "slide" between different parallel universes. Tracy Tormé, Robert K. Weiss, Leslie Belzberg, John Landis, David Peckinpah, Bill Dial and Alan Barnette served as executive producers at different times of the production. For its first two seasons, it was produced in Vancouver, British Columbia. It was filmed primarily in Los Angeles, California, in the last three seasons. Rick Friedberg
Rick Friedberg (born March 11, 1944) is an American film and television director, screenwriter and producer, best known for his work with Leslie Nielsen. He is also the author of ''Hollywood War Stories, How to Survive in the Trenches'', a memoir/advice guide on the film industry. Career Friedberg made his feature film debut in 1980 with the comedy ''Pray TV (1980 film), Pray TV'' starring Dabney Coleman, followed by 1983's ''Off the Wall (1983 film), Off the Wall''. He would direct television episodes for ''The Twilight Zone (1985 TV series), The Twilight Zone'', ''New Monkees'' and ''CityKids''. Brent Jay Spiner (; born February 2, 1949) is an American actor. He is best known for his role as the android Data on the television series '' Star Trek: The Next Generation'', as well as four subsequent films. ''Ol' Yellow Eyes Is Back'' is an album by Brent Spiner, best known for his role as Data in the American television series '' Star Trek: The Next Generation'', first released in June 1991. The title is a parodic reference both to Frank Sinatra's ''Ol' Blue Eyes Is Back'' and the Data character, whose eyes are golden yellow. On the album, Spiner is backed by the orchestra from that series as he sings a number of old pop standards, mostly from the 1930s and 1940s.
