Dennis Boyd (born November 5, 1955) is a former American football player who played for the Seattle Seahawks of the National Football League (NFL) from 1977 to 1982. He was drafted out of Oregon State University in the 3rd round (58th overall) of the 1977 NFL Draft The 1977 NFL draft was the procedure by which National Football League teams selected amateur college football players. Dennis Boyd (basketball)
Dennis Boyd (born May 21, 1954) is an American former professional basketball player. Amateur career Out of New York City and public high school Theodore Roosevelt in the Bronx where he averaged 27 ppg as a senior, Boyd signed to play college basketball for the University of Detroit with new Head Coach Dick Vitale beginning with the 1973–74 academic year. Boyd established himself quickly with a Detroit program that would produce a .722 winning percentage during his time with the Titans (1973-1977). Vitale added future NBA players such as John Long, Terry Tyler and Terry Duerod and built a dominating independent program at the Jesuit university. Boyd played point guard for the team, averaged 10.3 ppg and 7.6 apg as a senior, and was noted for game-winning shots, including wins in his 1967-77 senior season over then #8 Arizona and a historic road win as the #15 Titans defeated #1 and eventual national champions Marquette with Boyd hitting a game-winning jumper with 4 seconds ...

The 1978 Kangaroo tour of Great Britain and France comprised the Australia national rugby league team's fourteenth tour of Great Britain and ninth tour of France, and took place from September to December 1978. Coached by Frank Stanton (rugby league), Frank Stanton and captained by Bob Fulton, the Australian team, also known as the Kangaroos, played a match against Wales national rugby league team, Wales before contesting the Ashes series (rugby league), Ashes series against Great Britain Lions, Great Britain, winning the third and deciding Test match (rugby league), Test match. Dennis Ray "Oil Can" Boyd (born October 6, 1959) is a former starting pitcher in Major League Baseball. Boyd played for the Boston Red Sox (1982–1989), Montreal Expos (1990–1991), and Texas Rangers (1991). In a 10-season career, Boyd collected a 78–77 record with 799 strikeouts and a 4.04 ERA in 1,389.2 innings. His unique and memorable nickname has been reported as coming from his beer-drinking days in his hometown of Meridian, Mississippi, where beer was referred to as "oil".
