Denmark participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2005 with the song "Talking to You" written by Jacob Launbjerg and Andreas Mørck. The song was performed by Jakob Sveistrup. The Danish broadcaster DR organised the national final ''Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2005'' in order to select the Danish entry for the 2005 contest in Kyiv, Ukraine. Ten songs competed in a televised show where "Tænder på dig" performed by Jakob Sveistrup was the winner as decided upon through two rounds of public voting. Jakob Sveistrup
Jakob Sveistrup (born 8 March 1972) is a Danish singer. He entered the Danish music scene in 2003 as a competitor in the Danish televised talent contest '' Stjerne for en aften'' ("Star for a Night"). He made it to the finals. Unusually, Sveistrup was not a professional singer; he was a teacher for autistic children. However, in March 2006, Jakob resigned from this job to be a full-time musician. Jakob then went on to compete in the Dansk Melodi Grand Prix, which took place at the Forum in Horsens on 12 February 2005. He was selected as winner of the competition by national telephone voting for his performance of the song "''Tænder på dig''" by Jacob Launbjerg & Andreas Mørck. Sweden was represented in the Eurovision Song Contest 2005 by Martin Stenmarck with the song "Las Vegas". Before Eurovision Melodifestivalen 2005 The entrant was chosen through the Swedish national final Melodifestivalen. Four heats and one "second chance" round were broadcast to decide the line-up for the national final in Sweden. As in recent years the qualifying heats were held across Sweden. The Melodifestival started out in Göteborg and travelled through Linköping, Skellefteå, and Växjö before the final. Johnny Hansen (born 25 July 1965) is a Danish singer and musician, most famous as vocalist and guitarist of dansband Kandis. In addition to his career in Kandis, he has also released his own materials including four albums. In 1983, at age 18, he joined the band Airport that split up in 1988. With Jens Erik Jensen, a fellow musician, he formed the duo Jens Erik and Torben. With bassist Jørgen Hein Jørgensen joining later, the duo became a band renamed as Kandis.
