Denis Pagan
Denis Leslie Pagan (born 24 September 1947) is a former Australian rules football coach and player in the VFL/AFL. Pagan is a dual AFL premiership coach, and he also won the prestigious Victoria derby in 2020 as a trainer and owner of the horse “Johnny Get Angry.” This victory made him the first Australian sports figure to win an AFL premiership as a coach and train a group 1 horse race winner. Playing career North Melbourne Pagan played 120 games for the North Melbourne Football Club between 1967 and 1974, kicking 5 goals, mainly due to his permanent spot as a hard-nosed defender in the back pocket. The Victoria Australian rules football team, known colloquially as the Big V, is the state representative side of Victoria, Australia, in the sport of Australian rules football. The Big V has a proud history, dominating the first 100 years of intercolonial-interstate football, and being the most successful state in State of Origin. The Essendon Football Club, nicknamed the Bombers, is a professional Australian rules football club. The club plays in the Australian Football League (AFL), the game's premier competition. Carlton Football Club Salary Cap Breach
The Carlton Football Club salary cap breach was the breach of the Australian Football League's salary cap by the Carlton Football Club, primarily in the late 1990s and early 2000s. The breaches were a major scandal for the club, and resulted in the club being fined almost one million dollars (which was a record fine for an AFL team until Essendon in 2013), and restricted from recruiting players via the AFL Draft, both of which had lasting implications on the club's position. Wayne Brittain
Wayne Brittain (born 13 June 1958) is a former coach of the Carlton Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). Career Playing career In his playing career, Brittain played for Zillmere Eagles in the Queensland State League. He eventually suffered a back injury which ended his career. Coaching career Brisbane Bears Brittain then took up coaching in 1994 and became an assistant coach of Brisbane Bears under senior coach Robert Walls. Dean Laidley
Danielle May Laidley (born Dean James Laidley; 27 March 1967) is a former Australian rules football coach and player, who played for the West Coast Eagles and North Melbourne in the Australian Football League (AFL) from 1987 to 1997, including in North Melbourne's 1996 premiership team.
