Den Reformerte Synode I Danmark
The Reformed Synod of Denmark ( da, Den reformerte Synode) is a synod (council) of four Calvinist free church congregations in Denmark. A member of the World Communion of Reformed Churches, it has approximately 700 members. The current moderator is Sabine Hofmeister. The Synod's office is at Fredericia, in Southern Denmark. Synod
A synod () is a council of a Christian denomination, usually convened to decide an issue of doctrine, administration or application. The word ''wikt:synod, synod'' comes from the meaning "assembly" or "meeting" and is analogous with the Latin word meaning "council". Originally, synods were meetings of bishops, and the word is still used in that sense in Roman Catholic Church, Catholicism, Oriental Orthodoxy and Eastern Orthodoxy. In modern usage, the word often refers to the governing body of a particular church, whether its members are meeting or not. Swedish Free Church Council
The Swedish Free Church Council ( sv, Sveriges frikyrkosamråd) is an association of free churches in Sweden. It is part of the Christian Council of Sweden ( sv, Sveriges kristna råd) . The Swedish Free Church Council was established in 1992. In total the member churches have about 250,000 members, with almost double that figure involved in the churches' activities. The largest member church is the Uniting Church in Sweden, with approximately 85,000 members. The free churches belong to various Protestant denominations: Baptists, Methodists, Reformed, Pentecostal etc. Most of the free church denominations in Sweden began during the nineteenth century when an evangelical revival broke out. Christianity is a prevalent religion in Denmark; in January 2020, 74.3% of the population of Denmark were members of the Church of Denmark. According to a survey based on a sample 1,114, 25% of Danes believe Jesus is the son of God, and 18% believe he is the saviour of the world. Charlotte Amalie of Hesse-Kassel (27 April 1650 – 27 March 1714) was Queen of Denmark and Norway by marriage to King Christian V. Although she did not have much political influence, she was a successful businesswoman in her many estates and protected foreign Protestant non-Lutherans from oppression. She gained popularity for defending Copenhagen from Swedish forces in 1700. Early life Charlotte Amalie was born on 27 April 1650, in Kassel, Hesse, Germany. Her parents were William VI, Landgrave of Hesse-Kassel and Hedwig Sophia of Brandenburg. A pastor (abbreviated as "Pr" or "Ptr" , or "Ps" ) is the leader of a Christian congregation who also gives advice and counsel to people from the community or congregation.
