Den Blå Avis
Den Blå Avis was a Danish auto racing team, who competed in the FIA Formula 3000 Championship. The team has also competed in the Eurocup Formula Renault series in the 2001–2002 seasons. History The Den Blå Avis stable was founded for Jason Watt in 1997. Den Blå Avis owner Karsten Ree wanted to help his compatriot, and entered into a partnership with Jan Magnussen's manager at the time, David Sears. Sears already had one of the best teams in the Formula 3000 series, Super Nova Racing Super Nova Racing was a British racing team that has competed in Formula 3000/ GP2 and the A1 Grand Prix series. David Sears (racing Driver)
David Sears (born 9 December 1955) is a former professional racing driver and son of touring car legend Jack Sears. Biography The Sears dynasty has been involved in motor racing for nearly 100 years and four generations. David won two British Formula Ford Championships in 1979 and then raced in Formula 3 against Nigel Mansell and Stefan Johansson with much success. Sears was asked to test for Lotus in Formula One but ultimately Nigel Mansell got the drive and Sears switched to racing touring cars for Ford, Toyota and Jaguar in the European Touring Car Championship. He then raced for Toyota in Japan in Group C and Pontiac in the USA. In 1989 Sears raced for Aston Martin in the World Sports Car Championship and Le Mans. In 1990 Sears finished third at Le Mans in a Porsche 962 with Tiff Needell and Anthony Reid. 1998 International Formula 3000 Season
The 1998 International Formula 3000 Championship was the thirty-second season of the second-tier of Formula One feeder championship and also fourteenth season under the International Formula 3000 Championship moniker. The championship was contested over twelve rounds from 11 April to 26 September 1998. The Drivers' Championship was won by Colombian Juan Pablo Montoya of Super Nova Racing, who won four races. Drivers and teams Calendar 1998 was the last International F3000 season where races were held independently from Formula One Grands Prix. Pau and Pergusa had held International F3000 and previously European Formula Two Championship races uninterruptedly since 1972. Jason Watt
Jason Watt (born 24 February 1970) is a Danish racing driver. Watt enjoyed a fruitful karting career before moving into Formula Ford in 1992. He graduated to the British Formula Vauxhall Lotus Winter Series in 1993, winning the championship, as well as winning the following years Brands Hatch Formula Ford Festival, and British Formula Ford championship. In 1995, Watt won the Formula Opel Euroseries and had a one-off outing in the German Formula Three Championship. In 1996 he followed several other "coming men" of the time, such as Dario Franchitti, Juan Pablo Montoya and Jan Magnussen, into the International Touring Car Championship, driving a JAS Engineering entered Alfa Romeo. He also kept his single-seater ambitions alive by contesting a round of the British Formula 2 championship for Fred Goddard Racing.
