''Den 17de Mai'' is a former Norwegian newspaper, issued in Oslo from 1894 to 1935. History and profile The founder and first editor-in-chief of ''Den 17de Mai'' was Rasmus Steinsvik, who edited the newspaper until his death in 1913. Arne Garborg Arne Garborg (born Aadne Eivindsson Garborg) (25 January 1851 – 14 January 1924) was a Norwegian writer. Nynorsk
Nynorsk () () is one of the two written standards of the Norwegian language, the other being Bokmål. From 12 May 1885, it became the state-sanctioned version of Ivar Aasen's standard Norwegian language ( no, Landsmål) parallel to the Dano-Norwegian written language (''Riksmål'').
