''Demos'' is the first full-length album by Alkaline Trio singer/guitarist Matt Skiba. It is composed of demos that Skiba has recorded into his computer. Skiba released the project on Asian Man Records, which was Alkaline Trio's label for their first two full-length albums, ''Goddamnit'' and ''Maybe I'll Catch Fire ''Maybe I'll Catch Fire'' is the second album by American punk rock band Alkaline Trio, released on March 14, 2000 through Asian Man Records. Alkaline Trio
Alkaline Trio is an American punk rock band from Chicago, Illinois. Since 2001, the band has consisted of Matt Skiba (vocals, guitar), Dan Andriano (vocals, bass) and Derek Grant (drums, vocals). Founded in late 1996 by Skiba, bassist Rob Doran, and drummer Glenn Porter, Alkaline Trio released its debut single, "Sundials", in 1997. Following its release, Doran departed from the band and was replaced by Andriano. The band subsequently recorded an EP, ''For Your Lungs Only'' (1998), and its debut studio album, ''Goddamnit'' (1998). Following the release of the band's second album, '' Maybe I'll Catch Fire'' (2000), Porter left the band and was replaced by Mike Felumlee for its subsequent album, ''From Here to Infirmary'' (2001). ''Goddamnit'' is the debut album by the Chicago-based rock band Alkaline Trio, released October 13, 1998 through Asian Man Records. Artwork and title The album cover has 3 red alarm clocks, each set at 6:00, representing 666. "I used to set my alarm clock when I was a bike messenger to 6 o'clock in the morning, and when the alarm clock would go off, the first word out of my mouth was always 'Goddamnit!'", says Matt Skiba. Reception As of 2008, ''Goddamnit'' has sold 94,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan. Mike DaRonco of AllMusic called ''Goddamnit'' "hands down the perfect listening in the wake of a broken heart" and remarked that "It's rare that a band such as Alkaline Trio can make love songs appealing without being labeled as 'wimpy' or 'generic', and ''Goddamnit'' is the record to erase those labels." Maybe I'll Catch Fire
''Maybe I'll Catch Fire'' is the second album by American punk rock band Alkaline Trio, released on March 14, 2000 through Asian Man Records. It was their final studio album for Asian Man and their last with drummer Glenn Porter. Porter was replaced by former Smoking Popes member Mike Felumlee after recording had finished, making his stage debut in December 1999. The band promoted the album with an appearance on the 2000 Plea for Peace Tour in June and July of that year. Reception By August 2008, the album sold 85,000 copies. Mike DaRonco of Allmusic liked the album, but less than the band's previous effort, 1998's ''Goddamnit'', saying that "Lyrically, ''Maybe I'll Catch Fire'' follows in the footsteps of ''Goddamnit'', while staying true to the elaborate but emotional tone of aggressive pop-punk.
