Demonte is a ''comune'' (municipality) in the Province of Cuneo in the Italian region Piedmont, located about southwest of Turin and about southwest of Cuneo, in the Valle Stura di Demonte. Demonte borders the following municipalities: Aisone, Castelmagno, Marmora, Moiola, Monterosso Grana, Pradleves, Sambuco, Valdieri, Valloriate, and Vinadio. The family name Demonte means "On the Mountain". The 15th-century Italian fresco artist Giovanni Baleison was born in Demonte. Valle Stura Di Demonte
The Stura di Demonte Valley (in Italian ''Valle Stura di Demonte'') is a valley in south-west of Piedmont in the Province of Cuneo, Italy. Etymology The valley takes its name from the river Stura di Demonte, a left-hand tributary of the Tanaro which flows through the valley. Colle Fauniera

Giovanni Baleison or Giovanni Belisoni (active 1480–1500) was an Italian fresco artist, active in the Piedmont, Liguria, and France. Biography He was born in Demonte, Piedmont.
