The Convergence of Democrats of Navarre ( es, Convergencia de Demócratas de Navarra, CDN), also referred to as Navarrese Democratic Convergence,Ross, C., Richardson, B., Sangrador-Vegas, B. (2016) ''Contemporary Spain'' was a regionalist political party of the Spanish autonomous community of Navarre that split from Navarrese People's Union (UPN) in the 1990s, after this party became part of the conservative pan-Spanish People's Party. The break-away faction gathered around the figure of Juan Cruz Alli, former President of Navarre. Between 2003 and 2009, CDN was part of the coalition government of Navarre, together with UPN. The 2011 Navarrese regional election was held on Sunday, 22 May 2011, to elect the 8th Parliament of the Chartered Community of Navarre. All 50 seats in the Parliament were up for election. The election was held simultaneously with regional elections in twelve other autonomous communities and local elections all throughout Spain. The election was the first since 1987 not to see the People's Party (PP) fielding a separate list to that of the Navarrese People's Union (UPN), with the latter having functioned as the PP's sister party in Navarre since their 1991 agreement. The People's Party ( es, Partido Popular ; known mostly by its acronym, PP ) is a conservative and Christian-democratic political party in Spain.
