Democratic Party Of Albanians
The Democratic Party of Albanians ( sq, Partia Demokratike Shqiptare; mk, Демократска партија на Албанците, ''Demokratska Partija na Albancite'') or DPA is a List of political parties in North Macedonia, political party of ethnic Albanians in North Macedonia. The DPA is a merger of the Party for Democratic Prosperity of Albanians (PDPA) and the People's Democratic Party (Macedonia), People's Democratic Party (NDP) which took place in June 1997. The former party was established in 1994 after some radical members of the Party for Democratic Prosperity, led by Menduh Thaçi and Arbën Xhaferi, left the PDP and the latter party was founded in August 1990 as a more radical opponent of the PDP. Menduh Thaçi
Menduh Thaçi ( mk, Мендух Тачи; born 3 March 1965) is a North Macedonia, Macedonian politician of Kosovo Albanians, Kosovan descent. He is the leader of the Macedonian political party Democratic Party of Albanians. Thaçi was born in Tetovo and his parents were both from Kosovo, he is the fifth of six children. He attended primary and secondary school in Tetovo and graduated from the University of Pristina (1969–1999), University of Pristina. He has been an active politician for 20 years. He started as vice-president of the Party for Democratic Prosperity of Albanians (PDPA). In 1997 a merger was formed between the Party for Democratic Prosperity of Albanians (PDPA) and the People's Democratic Party (PDP). He was vice-president until the year 2006, at that time he was chosen President of the Party, after Arbën Xhaferi resigned.
