Democratic Jihad Party
The Democratic Jihad Party was an Egyptian political party made up of former members of the group Egyptian Islamic Jihad; it was also made up of members of other "former jihadist groups". The party is also known as the Islamic Democratic Jihad Party, as well as the Islamist Jihadi Party. A member of the party has stated that the party has "failed". The party has stated that it supported Ahmed Shafiq in the 2012 presidential election; Sabra Ibrahim, a deputy founder in the party, stated that the party gave its support to Shafiq in order to prevent the establishment of a theocratic state ruled by the Muslim Brotherhood. Nabil Na'eem
Nabeel Naeem Abdul Fattah ( ar, نبيل نعيم عبد الفتاح) is the founder of the Democratic Jihad Party as well as a contributor to Asharq Al-Awsat. He was also the leader of Egyptian Islamic Jihad from 1988 until 1992. He was arrested by Egypt in 1991 and not released until the 2011 Egyptian revolution. He and Ismail Nasr wrote up a document abandoning violence towards the state, though it did not gain much support, partly because he was not theologically qualified. The revisions of Sayyid Imam al-Sharif were more widely accepted among members of Egyptian Islamic Jihad. Presidential elections were held in Egypt in 2012, with the first round on 23 and 24 May 2012 and the second on 16 and 17 June. The 2012 Egyptian Presidential election was the first democratic presidential election of Egypt’s history. August 2012 Southern Israel Cross-border Attack
The August 2012 Sinai attack occurred on 5 August 2012, when armed men ambushed an Egyptian military base in the Sinai Peninsula, killing 16 soldiers and stealing two armored cars, which they used to infiltrate into Israel. The attackers broke through the Kerem Shalom border crossing to Israel, where one of the vehicles exploded. They then engaged in a firefight with soldiers of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), during which six of the attackers were killed. No Israelis were injured. The attack led to sharp condemnations from Israeli and Egyptian authorities. Al-Gama'a Al-Islamiyya

Moderate Front
The Moderate Front (also called the Moderate Islamist Front for Combating Violence and Extremism, the Islamic Alliance to Support Stability and Renounce Violence and the Movement of Moderation to Confront the Religious Extremism) is an alliance composed of former jihadis, ex-members of the Muslim Brotherhood and ex- al-Gama'a al-Islamiyya members. The Islamic Party (formerly known as the ''Peace and Development Party'' or ''Safety and Development Party'') is an Islamist political party in Egypt. The name of the party was changed in approximately December 2012. The main leaders of the group are Mohamed Abu Samra and Kamal Habib. The party is backed by the Egyptian Islamic Jihad group.
