Demiurge
In the Platonic, Neopythagorean, Middle Platonic, and Neoplatonic schools of philosophy, the demiurge () is an artisan-like figure responsible for fashioning and maintaining the physical universe. The Gnostics adopted the term ''demiurge''. Although a fashioner, the demiurge is not necessarily the same as the Creator figure in the monotheistic sense, because the demiurge itself and the material from which the demiurge fashions the universe are both considered consequences of something else. Depending on the system, they may be considered either uncreated and eternal or the product of some other entity. The word ''demiurge'' is an English word derived from ''demiurgus'', a Latinised form of the Greek or . It was originally a common noun meaning "craftsman" or "artisan", but gradually came to mean "producer", and eventually "creator". The philosophical usage and the proper noun derive from Plato's ''Timaeus'', written  360 BC, where the demiurge is presented as the crea ...

Demiurge (magistrate)
A demiurge was a magistrate in Peloponnesian and other Ancient Greek city-states, including Corinth, Mantinea and Argos, and in their colonies, such as the Doric colony of Cnidus in Asia Minor. The English word for the title is an Anglicisation of Attic-Ionic δημιοργός, but because it was most commonly used by Doric Greek speakers, the original word in Greek has various alternate spellings (see below). In the Achaean League, the assembly of members was presided over by ten elected ''demiourgoi''; Corinth sent ''epidemiourgoi'' annually to Potidaea to report to the Spartan harmosts. The term is variously rendered δαιμουργός (''daimourgos''), δαιμωργός (''daimorgos''), and δαμιεργός (''damiergos'') in Doric Greek, and δημιοργός (''demiorgos'') in Ionic Greek on the island of Samos.Perseus Project electronic A Greek–English Lexicon entr/ref> In the Archaic Argolid, the demiurge seems to have served as a judge, and when one was lacking ...

Project Demiurge
''Heresy: Kingdom Come'' is an out-of-print collectible card game (CCG) developed and published by Last Unicorn Games (LUG) in September 1995. The game was based on religion-themed fantasy in a cyberpunk setting. Publication history The base set, released in 1995, consisted of 374 cards. An expansion called ''Project Demiurge'' with 90 cards was planned for a June 1996 release, but as a result of poor sales, no expansion sets were ever published. The company delayed the release dependent upon "sufficient orders from distributors." Setting The theme of ''Heresy'' was the continuation of the War in Heaven between angels and demons in a futuristic cyberpunk setting. The premise is that the barriers (known in the game as the Mirror, Shroud, or Veil) between the physical realm (the Wilds), the digital realm (the Matrix), and the spiritual realm (Heaven) have grown thin, and fallen angels on Earth are trying to use the Matrix (cyberspace) to open a portal to ascend back into Heaven. Demiourgoi
The ''Republic'' ( grc-gre, Πολῑτείᾱ, Politeia; ) is a Socratic dialogue, authored by Plato around 375 BCE, concerning justice (), the order and character of the just city-state, and the just man. It is Plato's best-known work, and one of the world's most influential works of philosophy and political theory, both intellectually and historically. In the dialogue, Socrates discusses the meaning of justice and whether the just man is happier than the unjust man with various Athenians and foreigners. In ancient times, the book was alternately titled ''On Justice'' (not to be confused with the spurious dialogue of the same name). They consider the natures of existing regimes and then propose a series of different, hypothetical cities in comparison, culminating in Kallipolis (Καλλίπολις), a utopian city-state ruled by a philosopher-king. They also discuss ageing, love, theory of forms, the immortality of the soul, and the role of the philosopher and of poetry ...
