''Demirspor'' clubs in Turkey are founded by the employees of the Turkish Railways (TCDD), similar to the Lokomotiv sports clubs of Eastern Europe. Most ''Demirspor'' clubs have jersey colours blue and navy, and bear the TCDD symbol on their logo. Adana Demirspor and Ankara Demirspor are the only ''Demirspor'' club that compete in the Turkish Professional Football League System, and Ankara Demirspor is the only club still affiliated with TCDD. Adana Demirspor
Adana Demirspor Kulübü is a sports club based in Adana, Turkey. Founded by railway workers in 1940, the club is competitive in football, watersports, racquet sports and martial arts. Football team's thriving success at the Adana League and the water polo team's unbeaten National League titles in the first three decades, built a large worker fan base in the city and attracted landowners to finance the club. Believing that the worker supported, landowner financed, TCDD governed club are alienating them, middle-class merchants and artisans founded Adanaspor in 1954 and competition among the two clubs for the citywide support and domination, created one of the fierce rivalries of Turkish football which continues to this day as Adana derby. Ankara Demirspor is a Turkish professional Association football, football club based in Ankara. They compete in the TFF Second League. They were one of the Süper Lig, Super League's founding members in 1959. By winning the former Turkish Football Championship in 1947 Turkish Football Championship, 1947, they became Turkish champions for the first and only time. They played 13 seasons in the Super League and relegated to the TFF First League, Second League in 1971 and never returned to the top division.
