Dementia UK
Dementia UK is a charitable organisation in the United Kingdom. It aims to support those living with dementia and their families, primarily through their specialists nurses, called Admiral Nurses. As of 2022, they have 376 Admiral Nurses working throughout the UK. History A specialist training program was initially set up in 1988, before the first Admiral Nurses were appointed in 1990 at the Middlesex Hospital. This eventually resulted in the establishment of the Dementia Relief Trust in 1995, later to be renamed Dementia UK. The project was started by Ninot Levy and Jane Jason, wife and daughter of property developer Joseph Levy CBE BEM, who was diagnosed with vascular dementia in the 1980s and was inspired by the specialist support given by Macmillan Nurses to those with cancer. Naughty Boy
Shahid Khan ( ur, شاهد خان; born 1 January 1981), better known by his stage name Naughty Boy, is a British DJ, record producer, songwriter and musician. In 2012, Khan signed a three–year publishing deal with Sony ATV, as well as a recording contract to release one album under Virgin EMI Records. Khan launched himself as a record producer under the moniker "Naughty Boy" and runs his own production company called Naughty Boy Recordings. He has produced two records for rappers Chipmunk and Wiley, both featuring Emeli Sandé. Carers UK is the main membership charity in the United Kingdom for carers. It was formed by the merger of two existing voluntary organisations on 14 May 1988. Originally constituted as Carers National Association, it was renamed Carers UK in 2001. Charitable purposes Carers UK provides information to carers and leads campaigns to improve carers' rights and tackle inequality. It has been instrumental in securing the first ever legal rights for carers. Age UK
Age UK is a registered charity in the United Kingdom, formed on 25 February 2009, and launched on 1 April 2009, which combined the operations of the previously separate charities Age Concern England and Help the Aged to form the UK's largest charity for older people. Despite the national merger, many local Age Concern charities decided not to become brand partners of Age UK and continued as independent and completely separate Age Concerns and remain so to this day. The charity operated as "Age Concern England and Help the Aged" until the new brand launch on 19 April 2010. Alzheimer's Research UK (ARUK) is a dementia research charity in the United Kingdom, founded in 1992 as the Alzheimer's Research Trust. ARUK funds scientific studies to find ways to treat, cure or prevent all forms of dementia, including Alzheimer's disease, vascular dementia, dementia with Lewy bodies and frontotemporal dementia.
