Delmar DeLong
Delmar E. DeLong (June 7, 1931 – June 30, 1999) was an American lawyer, Wisconsin State Representative and farmer. Born in Beloit, Wisconsin, DeLong served in the United States Army from 1953 to 1955. He received his bachelor's degree and law degrees from University of Wisconsin–Madison. He practiced law, was a farmer, and in the feed and grain business. He served as municipal court judge for the town of Turtle, Wisconsin, the Clinton, Wisconsin village board and Clinton Board of Education. He served in the Wisconsin State Assembly from 1973 to 1982 as a Republican. He also served on the Wisconsin Technical College Board. He died in Ocala, Florida Ocala ( ) is a city in and the county seat of Marion County within the northern region of Florida, United States. Delmar Calaboose
Delmar Calaboose is a historic one-room jail located in Delmar, Iowa, United States. The word calaboose is a corruption of the Spanish word ''calabozo'', which means dungeon. The building was built for and used as a jail in frontier Iowa. The walls and roof of the one-story structure are composed of limestone and mortar. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1981. History When the Davenport, St. Paul and Midland railroad was being built the town of Delmar had yet to be incorporated, but it had a prosperous liquor trade serving the construction workers. It had become such a problem by the time the town incorporated in 1876 that the town council increased the licensing fees on liquor dealers and saloon keepers to regulate the trade. The plan did not work as those in the liquor trade refused to buy the licenses. Other citizens in Delmar demanded the construction of a town jail. George Abramovich Koval ( rus, Жорж (Георгий) Абрамович Коваль, p=ˈʐorʐ (ɡʲɪˈorɡʲɪj) ɐˈbraməvʲɪtɕ kɐˈvalʲ, a=Ru-George Abramovich Koval.flac, Zhorzh Abramovich Koval; December 25, 1913 – January 31, 2006) was an American engineer who acted as a Soviet intelligence officer for the Soviet atomic bomb project. Koval's infiltration of the Manhattan Project as a GRU (Soviet military intelligence) agent reduced the time it took for Russia to develop nuclear weapons. Koval was born to Russian Jewish immigrants in Sioux City, Iowa. As an adult, he traveled with his parents to the Soviet Union to settle in the Jewish Autonomous Region near the Chinese border. Koval was recruited by the GRU, trained, and assigned the code name DELMAR. He returned to the United States in 1940 and was drafted into the U.S. Army in early 1943. Delmar Valleau
Delmar Storey Valleau (July 1, 1917 – August 5, 2000) was a farmer and political figure in Saskatchewan and an educator in California. He was an Active Service Voters' Representative in the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan from 1944 to 1948 representing members of the Canadian armed services on active duty in Great Britain. He was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, the son of Oakland Woods Valleau and Minnie Storie, and was educated in Regina. Valleau served in the Royal Canadian Air Force during World War II. In 1945, he married Olive Greer. Valleau ran unsuccessfully for a seat in the Canadian House of Commons in 1949 as a Co-operative Commonwealth Federation candidate, losing to John Diefenbaker in the Lake Centre riding.
