Delicatessen (1930 Film)
''Delicatessen'' (german: Delikatessen) is a 1930 German romance film directed by Géza von Bolváry and starring Harry Liedtke, Georgia Lind, and Ernő Verebes. It was shot at the Tempelhof Studios in Berlin. The film's sets were designed by the art director Robert Neppach. Plot Franz Hellmer is the manager of Paul Wallis' delicatessen, and his friend Bela works there as a clerk. When the friends meet Lilo Martens, both are very taken with the pretty young woman. It quickly turns out, however, that Bela cannot score with Lilo, while the charming Franz thinks he has a chance. After partying with friends at the "Green Cockatoo" and cheering the performance of the singer Dolly Reves, and closing the place because of the police hour, the friends decide to continue the fun get-together in the deli. Géza Von Bolváry
Géza von Bolváry (born Géza Gyula Mária Bolváry Zahn, german: Géza Maria von Bolváry-Zahn; 26 December 1897 – 10 August 1961) was a Hungarian actor, screenwriter, and film director, who worked principally in Germany and Austria. Biography Géza von Bolváry was born in Budapest. He attended the Imperial Military Academy in Budapest and subsequently served in the Hungarian army (Honved Hussars). After World War I he left military service with the rank of Royal Hungarian '' Rittmeister''. He then earned his living in the new Hungarian film industry. He began his career in about 1920 as an actor in various silent films, but soon changed to the Star-Film company, where he was first active as a director and made his debut as director and screenwriter with ''A Kétarcú asszony''. Paul Hörbiger (29 April 1894 – 5 March 1981) was an Austrian theatre and film actor. Life and work Paul Hörbiger was born in the Hungarian capital Budapest, then part of Austria-Hungary, the son of engineer Hanns Hörbiger, founder of the ''Welteislehre'' cosmological concept, and elder brother of actor Attila Hörbiger. In 1902, the family returned to Vienna, while Paul attended the '' gymnasium'' (high school) at St. Paul's Abbey in Carinthia.
