The Delhi women's cricket team is a women's cricket team that represents the Indian union territory of Delhi. The team competes in the Women's Senior One Day Trophy and the Women's Senior T20 Trophy. Arun Jaitley Stadium
The Arun Jaitley Stadium is a cricket stadium owned and operated the Delhi District Cricket Association (DDCA) and located on Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg, New Delhi. It was established in 1883 as the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium, and named after the nearby Kotla fort. It is the second oldest functional international cricket stadium in India, after the Eden Gardens of Kolkata. As of 25 October 2019, it has hosted 34 Tests, 25 ODIs and 6 T20I. In a 2017 felicitation ceremony, the DDCA named four stands of the stadium after former India captain Bishan Singh Bedi, former India all-rounder Mohinder Amarnath, former India and Delhi opener Gautam Gambhir. The home team's dressing room was named after Raman Lamba and the away dressing room after Prakash Bhandari. On 12 September 2019, the stadium was renamed in memory of former DDCA President and Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, after his death on 24 August 2019. Priya Punia
Priya Punia (born 6 August 1996) is an Indian cricketer. In December 2018, she was named in India's squad for their series against New Zealand. She made her Women's Twenty20 International cricket (WT20I) debut for India against New Zealand Women on 6 February 2019. In September 2019, she was named in India's Women's One Day International (WODI) squad for their series against South Africa. She made her WODI debut for India, against South Africa, on 9 October 2019. Cricket In Delhi
Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a field at the centre of which is a pitch with a wicket at each end, each comprising two bails balanced on three stumps. The batting side scores runs by striking the ball bowled at one of the wickets with the bat and then running between the wickets, while the bowling and fielding side tries to prevent this (by preventing the ball from leaving the field, and getting the ball to either wicket) and dismiss each batter (so they are "out"). Means of dismissal include being bowled, when the ball hits the stumps and dislodges the bails, and by the fielding side either catching the ball after it is hit by the bat, but before it hits the ground, or hitting a wicket with the ball before a batter can cross the crease in front of the wicket. Delhi Cricket Team
The Delhi cricket team is a first-class cricket team based in Delhi, run by the Delhi District Cricket Association, that plays in India's first class competition, the Ranji Trophy and limited-overs Vijay Hazare Trophy and Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. They have won the Ranji Trophy seven times and have been runners-up eight. Their latest title in 2007-08 came after a long wait of 16 years. The previous win was in the 1991–92 season when they beat Tamil Nadu in the final. The team's home ground is Arun Jaitley Stadium. It took place in December 2011 and January 2012, with 26 teams divided into five regional groups. Railways won the tournament, their third in a row, beating Delhi in the final. Shilpa Gupta (cricketer)
Shilpa Dayanand Gupta (born 24 February 1989 in Delhi, India) is an Indian cricketer. She plays for Delhi women's cricket team in domestic matches. Early life Shilpa Gupta was born in Rohini, Delhi. Her father Dayanand Gupta is a property dealer and her mother Swarna Gupta is a housewife. She did her schooling from SKV Prashant Vihar and attended Kamla Nehru College, Delhi University.
