Delhi Wizards
Delhi Wizards (DW) is a hockey team based in Delhi that plays in the World Series Hockey. Its captain is the Pakistani stryker Shakeel Abbasi. The team is owned by Wizcraft International and coached by former coach of Dutch hockey team Roelant Oltmans and Darryl D'Souza. Dhyan Chand National Stadium, Delhi is the home ground of Delhi Wizards. Ownership Wizcraft International acquired the Delhi franchise of the World Series Hockey (WSH). Wizcraft has been instrumental in shaping the event management and brand activation industry in India. Shakeel Abbasi
Shakeel Abbasi (b: 5 January 1984, Quetta, Pakistan) is a former international field hockey player from Pakistan. He played as a forward mainly as an inside right or center forward. A skillful forward Abbasi was regarded as one of the finest players for Pakistan in his career making over 300 appearances. He also played for various club sides around the world reputed as a world class player of his era. Early life Abbasi was born in Quetta, Pakistan on 5 January 1984. A good sportsman Abbasi played various sports during his school and college days, influenced by his peers specially his elder brother who recommended him to continue in hockey seeing his promising prospect in it. Abbasi then started giving hockey his full-time attention joining hockey academies in his hometown. Bhopal Badshahs
Bhopal Badshahs (BB) was hockey team from Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh that competes in the World Series Hockey championship. The captain of the team is Sameer Dad, part of the Indian National Hockey Team. Bhopal Badshahs was coached by Vasudevan Bhaskaran, who led the Indian hockey team to victory in the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow. Badshahs defeated Chandigarh Comets in the inaugural match of 2012 World Series Hockey 4-3. Aishbagh Stadium, Bhopal is the home ground of Bhopal Badshahs. PCMC Hockey Stadium also known as The Major Dhyanachand Stadium is a field hockey stadium in the city of Pune, India. It has a seating capacity of 5,000 people. It serves as the home ground of the hockey franchisee based in Pune Strykers, for World Series Hockey. History It was built in 1993, was the first polygrass stadium of the district. It costed 1.15 crore to build this stadium. Women's hockey matches of National Games which were held in 1993. Major renovations The stadium has been renovated by the PCMC Administration at a cost of 2.75 crore to improve the infrastructure at the stadium. Chandigarh Comets (CCO) is hockey team based in Chandigarh, which is one of the eight teams that plays in World Series Hockey. Pakistani striker Rehan Butt is the captain of the team and Harendra Singh is the coach. Sector 42 Stadium is the home ground of Chandigarh Comets.
