Delfines De Abasolo
Club Deportivo Delfines de Abasolo is a football club that plays in the Liga TDP. It is based in the city of Abasolo, Mexico. History The team was founded in 1978 as ''Club Deportivo Delfines de Abasolo'', however, previously there had been other professional teams in the town such as the ''Club Deportivo Hidalgo'' and the ''Club Deportivo Abasolo'', these teams won various regional tournaments in central Mexico. In 1978, the ''Delfines'' began their participation in Third Division. In 1991, the team won the promotion to Segunda División 'B', after defeating Ola Naranja de Zacatecas in the promotion playoff. Abasolo, Guanajuato
Abasolo is a Mexican city (and municipality) located in the Southwest region of the state of Guanajuato. The municipality has an area of 601.73 square kilometres (1.98% of the surface of the state), and is bordered to the north by Pueblo Nuevo and Valle de Santiago, to the south by the state of Michoacán and Huanímaro, and to the west by Pénjamo and Cuerámaro. The municipality had 79,093 inhabitants according to the 2005 census. The city was estimated to have 28,100 inhabitants in 2020. The Liga TDP is Mexico's fourth tier in the Mexican League System. The Liga TDP is divided into 17 groups. For the 2009/2010 season, the format of the tournament has been reorganized to a home and away format, which all teams will play in their respective group. The 2022–23 Liga TDP season is the fourth-tier football league of Mexico. The tournament will begin on 18 August 2022 and will finish on June 2023. Competition format The Tercera División (Third Division) is divided into 18 groups. For the 2009–2010 season, the format of the tournament has been reorganized to a home and away format, which all teams will play in their respective group. The 18 groups consist of teams which are eligible to play in the liguilla de ascenso (promotion play–offs) for four promotion spots, teams who are affiliated with teams in the Liga MX, Liga de Expansión MX and Liga Premier and development teams, which are not eligible for promotion but will play that who the better team in a sixteen team reserves playoff tournament for the entire season.
